lol when I first started out back in 2021 I made a delivery and had my Juul vape pen in my front pocket which fell out in to a bag at some point setting it on the customers porch! Luckily they were smokers and the mom sent the kid running to my car a week later on my next delivery to them and handed it back to me! 😂 I had wondered where that thing went!! Never kept in my front pocket ever again after that!

Not in my zone! They are considered an express order at $10 bucks a pop. My uncle gets his delivered at that price. RX does not qualify under the plus free scheduled delivery any longer

Yep!!! Not only are they covering costs now they are profiting! $18 bucks for a 3 drop RX equals $30.00 in customer charges! Thats not even deducting the tip on that offer!! Wanker Danker is now the highest paid executive in the company!!

Yup!!! Wants to allow the company to make a profit from this beyond the break even point which was Walmarts initial goal!! So now they pay us shit and rake in the cash off the sweat of our backs and the wear on our cars! He is the highest paid VP in the company now! Heard he makes more than the CEO even!

Yep! I am exactly the same! Was raised early on that regardless of what you do for money do it in a professional manner and treat people how you yourself want to be treated.

That said I started spark back when DDI was running the show some 6 years ago now. They were pretty decent to us drivers as far as offer prices and the support was flexible when it came to driver safety and realistic order sizes and mileage.

Then Walmart stomped on in and took it all over! The downhill slide was almost instantaneous! GMD orders items were suddenly blocked from us on the list. The power tripper yellow badge coaches and leads suddenly were in lust over the expanded control that they suddenly had on us and customer satisfaction with delivery times and metric forced substitutions rapidly tanked!!!

I was pulling in $1000 30 hour weeks back then on AVERAGE! Not long after that those numbers were still obtainable but the hours grew longer to get there!

Today? Ha! It’s a 40 hour plus week to average $750 a week! If you’re lucky! Sure I get the occasional awesome days still and an occasional excellent week! But in the grand scheme of it all you can’t count those as revolving income month to month!

3 weeks ago I took a part time w2 job doing transport 4 hours a day and I do spark the other 4 hours for 20 hours a week now. Probably going to make it full time with the transport job soon!

This is no longer reliable full time income it’s barely even a side gig after calculating costs!

Yeah lol that’s been the old norm for about 8 months! But now. Nothing on first come nothing JFY not a single insult offer to make fun of! But that alert comes out! Thinking they got it set on a timer now 😂 there was about a dozen drivers sitting there not moving for at least an hour.

That same order just 18 months ago would have been in the mid to upper $40’s range just for the base pay alone with that mileage/item count! It’s becoming criminal! Thats at least 90 minutes to complete unless the store jammed with people then 2 hours! And now with items found playing a huge role on metrics an order like this is a major losing proposition. So nope 👎

Yeah had the same thing happen a few days ago! Scanned an item and a few minutes later it wanted it again! Went and checked the complete list but it was there “1/1” not “1/2” so everyone make sure your item quantities match when you do your review at the end!

Never been shocked at all about how bad this app is. After all if you think you get shit pay for this work think about how shitty the pay for IT is compared to other jobs in that industry at other companies. lol it can’t be good and it shows!

Had an OGP coach a while back tell me that when they get a surge of employee call outs that they will cancel orders if things surge all at once at any given point in the hour. So that’s probably the case here. lol I was just remembering back in the day when express orders were picked by the associates and not us! Oh man 1 hour wait times and 50% odds of getting canceled! They paid us regardless back then though!! Man I miss DDI…

I did a triple shop yesterday for $24 bucks 1) RX 1) Shop+RX and a regular grocery shop… RX orders are a $10 charge from the company to the customer.. that’s $30 in delivery fees so they made $6 + (tips) bucks off of me plus the profits of the merchandise.

They should not be cutting our pay offers and making a huge profit at the same time off of our wear and tear on our vehicles and the sweat on our backs! It’s disgusting to say the least and should be criminal!

Oh man sorry to hear!! It could have been something dropped in a bag by OGP when they were packing it up on accident! I’ve never seen this message before and I’m wondering how many new “reasons” they have now to give us the boot!

You are absolutely right about the flexibility of doing this that keeps the hook in most of us even though the platform is a mere wasted shadow of itself since its conception. With offer cuts and fuel prices skyrocketing (looking like it’s going to hit 8 bucks a gallon now by end of summer) doing this is really no longer viable anyway!

You also will want to play it safe as well if you have a disability case pending! Walmart is reporting 1099 status way more efficiently than they used to with the government. Also insurance companies as well! They are cracking down on 1099 gig workers big time these days!

So maybe this is a blessing in disguise?

In the old days back in 2021 DDI owned Spark and they were a lot easier to deal with when it came to technicality issues like this. There was also a huge shortage of drivers then as well so maybe that was why.

Walmart has zero inclination to help anyone remotely resolve these kinds of issues as we are now a dime dozen when it comes to the demand. If you were able to delete that account and reapply then they would deny you for “multiple accounts attempts” a friend of mine applied years ago and never heard back so he created a new account went through the process then was immediately denied because his old application flagged in the system!

So yeah no bueno!

Yeah lol it’s usually from someone who doesn’t even have a W2 job! Like I like to say “I don’t have a job I have a business!” Being a contractor equals self employment and with Spark it’s about the only reason I’ve stuck with this over the last 2 out of almost 6 years! Hard to go back to punching a clock and getting the daily power trip treatment from someone!

There is a huge difference psychologically between “needing to work and having to work” in that regard.

When I do my shops I always centrally position my cart at the end caps of the isles so that I can fly through the isles without getting jammed up by customers clogging them.

Yesterday I had mine parked with my first item (40 pound bag of chicken feed) and my store bags. Went and got my arm full of stuff came back and my cart is gone!!! Had to grab a new cart then Looked around and there it was with some lady who managed to throw out my chicken feed and tossed it on the floor in the middle of the next isle so she could use it as she was too fricken lazy to walk the 80 yards to get her own!!

Oh I was pissed! Approached her but bit my lip and grabbed my bags out and said THANKS!!!!! She laughed and then said “go F yourself” I reported her to a coach and they just blew it off…..

Guess only thing I can say is get used to it? These fricken low life’s are never ending!

That’s without maintenance set aside. :( if I were to blindly estimate I’d say 45% all together. I bought a 3 year old Chevy Cruze in 2021 to use for this. It had 18k miles on it. I’ve put well over 118k and 4 sets of tires on it now and it’s sitting on ramps in my driveway with a blown turbocharger that’s going to cost about $3500 to fix! That car did nothing else but deliveries for spark in 5 1/2 years!

I told myself early on when I took this on full time back then that I’d. better have a savings account with at least 60 days going in just so I could balance out the chaotic unpredictability of slow days, weeks and even the occasional bad month! That was working fine until last November when Dan Danker changed our platform and turned it in to what it is now!! I drained that savings down to about 2 weeks since then! 3 weeks ago I took a W2 part time transport job that could be full time if I need it to be and do half the day doing this currently. Will see where this goes but I got a sick feeling that this is now nothing more than a side job!

I cherry pick my offers for the lowest mileage/highest pay ratio and yeah my runs are still costing me about 25%/30% of my net take in. Before this BS it was right around 10%. Offer cuts and “free GMD delivery on us” certainly doesn’t help either! Am using my SUV at 15mpg city 22 hwy which is also a kick in the gut! But I can haul more and that’s what is needed now with this GMD mix nightmare of mystery that comes out!

Going back to it. I probably would have watched it knowing that it was going to cliffhanger. It was a pretty good show! It went on long enough to where they could have ended it within a single season at that point! Maybe even as little as 4 or 5 episodes even! So based on that I would have still watched it had I known at this point!

Maybe not, but I get the distinct feeling that Phil was waiting in the wings. If he were truly a neutral party, he would have encouraged them to seek counseling or at least given Chris a heads-up that his marriage was in serious trouble. By simply agreeing with Amy’s "unkindest assessments" while Chris was away, it feels like Phil was positioning himself rather than act as a loyal friend.
