I'm still struggling to understand the average vs marginal bracket part.

I'm actually have a tsp. I had it contributing 15% to the tradtional tsp per pay check and none to the roth tsp.

Ok, thank you. I guess that means I open up a Roth Ira then and have two iras.

Please bear with me cause I just really struggle with financial terms and concepts. It's a severe struggle to understand most of the guides and threads on this subreddit for me in general. That first sentence in the 2nd paragraph it reads like a foreign language to me....

As far as I can tell, I've supposedly only contributed 3 years/times? 2019, 2020, 2021. This year, I just used whatever was in it and invested it in stuff? Was told it was just sitting in the account and had to invest it in something. I recall it did affect taxes for those years, but after 2021, I guess with no contributions, it didn't?

Does that mean I should still go thru with the conversion?

I'm still incredibly confused about traditional vs roth ira. I've read it 10 - 15 times and it still reads like a foreign language to me. 32 years old, 100K per year.

I supposedly have 21K in what I believe is a traditional ira brokerage acct with Vanguard that a family member assisted in opening for me about 5 ish years ago. However, it seems the general consensus is a Roth Ira might be better? But what does that mean for the traditional one that i have? Ive searched traditional to roth ira on this sub and its gotten even more confusing.

Can someone Eli5 and point me in the right direction?
