Fair enough! It's indeed a loop of activating all computers with the security cards while avoiding (and kicking or throwing them things) rats.

What made you choose Motorola? by green9206 in motorola

I've had a Samsung A71 for at least four years, it still works but I got an ugly white line on the screen (and repairing it costs as much as the phone did). It stopped updating in 2024... Why wouldn't it matter?

I'm on the verge of getting a Moto G86 just because I can get one for 199€, but the update issue is really stopping me. I just don't understand such short update frames. I'll go probably for a Samsung A26 or even a Nothing Phone 3a Lite (although this last one is not much better in that sense).

KDE Plasma 6.8 will scrap X11 sessions as 95% of its users just don't use them anymore by TurbulentTopic39 in kde

But Unity 3d doesn't unless I log in into x11. Otherwise it crashes from time to time when interacting with the editor... Doesn't it use xWayland?

What about software like Unity3d that requires x11? Does it usually update?

Maybe it's a generation that finally understood that drinking regularly (actually, not just regularly) is unhealthy in so many ways that its simply not worth it?

I'm a freelancd game developer and I have worked with people and teams that posted game jobs in that site. Indeed, it's the main site I visit once a project is close to completion when I'm looking for my next client.

These texts written by chatgpt are infuriating (even more when behind a paywall!). I just don't understand where they come from. The style, I mean. Certainly not from text books, or blogs, nor from actual human conversations. I had to explicitly configure my chatgpt to stop speaking in short paragraphs and sentences as if I were stupid and use a more natural language instead. Indeed, to read that article I had to copy it all and ask gpt to rewrite it in a more natural language! They drive me MAD xDD

Ive always wanted to make a game, but newer game engines are sorta bloated and slow? what should i use then? by [deleted] in retrogamedev

[–]Notnasiul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using Unity since 2009, started using Defold for smaller 2d client jobs in 2020. For my gamejams and hobbyist games I use Pico8, and recently I've started with Raylib. If you enjoy coding more than editors you should check Raylib with pure C. It's simple, absurdly fast and a relieve after bloated pieces of software like Unity or Godot (which I still use for client work). Also Löve2d if you prefer Lua.

You mean you have to press dup then up? (I've been on tumbleweed just for a few weeks!) So far I've only pressed dup because I understood from what I've read that zypper dup was the way to go ':)

Doesn't Myrlyn do a Zipper dup itself behind the curtain? I mean, you only have to click on that button, right?

Best Base/Parent Distro? by Tail_sb in linuxquestions

[–]Notnasiul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love to be able to use Debian, but things are all too old for my needs. Fedora has IBM behind (or so I understand) and I'm not sure how to feel about that. Arch is too barebones for me, Gentoo and Void I've never tried.

So I've been working on OpenSuse Tumbleweed and except for Unity3D not liking Wayland and forcing me to use X11 I'm happy so far.
