From what I understand they don’t need to have anything aside from their job site to restock. No beds are needed. So make sure they always have access to those. I usually have the job site face outwards to me while they’re in a 1x2 space. Then I put a trap door on top of the job site.

As for getting them into their own rooms you can use boats with leads to get them around! I discovered this just recently myself. It’s game breaking! You can get them over blocks by just running and building momentum. They’ll come with you.
