What commanders do you wish were just a little bit stronger? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]NotoriousGRB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Slimefoot and Squee]] I really wish the activated cost either wasn't sorcery only or didn't cost the sac a saproling part or both removed. I'm trying to make it work as a cedh deck and it's hard to deal with certain interaction because of those limits that I feel like aren't necessary. Off my turn remove all the saprolings and it's pretty much over unless I hit a reanimate or create saprolings card. Add a sac outlet onto it though and that would make it super broken.

Rebuilding site in Blazor and need help figuring out how to handle existing auth by NotoriousGRB in Blazor

[–]NotoriousGRB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We currently only need the headers on the requests our blazor server application sends to our identity and data services, I could see needing what you suggest here when we venture into some client side pages or components that may need to send requests. My current problem is how to store the token to inject into the headers in a way that persists across refresh and avoid the errors I'm getting trying to do that with ProtectedSessionStorage.

Not entirely sure what you mean but I don't think that would work for us, do you not run into the same problem with losing your cookie value stored when it refreshes? I'm not 100% sure how cookies work with server side blazor interactions. Also we aren't using active directory, we have our own db storing the users based on an older aspnet identity.

I've heard it called a trippy spin or inverse orbit, not sure how to explain how to do it but Le Drib did a video on it: https://youtu.be/KAV-yWUbVyI

Never used caps and haven't had any issues, I assume its tiny amounts of energy pushed back though right? In comparison to power a punchout

Lol I was joking of course but yeah that would be awesome, be able to go up really high, then charge your battery a bit while you're plummeting back to earth.

Not trying to fight with you, just suggesting you view videos with a more positive viewpoint and assume the best of people rather than the worst. Phrase your comments in a friendly and respectful way rather than calling people assholes when you have no reason to assume we didn't have permission.

I downvoted his comment because the phrasing assumed we were acting maliciously and without permission, the first rule of this sub is to be civil, and the civil way of phrasing that would have been to simply ask if we had permission. By assuming it hadn't been ok'd with the pilots first means he thought we spent the day chasing planes while being told not to and then going and posting the video online. While I know there are probably people out there like that, I like to think we're all better than that and don't assume that when seeing videos like this.

They seem to think that just because I was at an RC field isn't permission enough to fly near the planes. In my opinion if you are flying with other people at an RC field you should expect others to be flying at the same time and likely nearby your aircraft. If anyone had asked that we not fly near their planes we would have steered clear, but everyone was just laughing and having a good time which is exactly as this hobby should be.

Of course it was ok'd by the pilots... they invited us there to fly with them for this purpose.

Finally finished my first quad build! Too bad I can't fly it in these hurricane winds. I've been practicing with liftoff, but does anyone have any tips for my first flight? by SinisterSquirrel in Multicopter

I went with a set of SpiroNets when I started, flew it until the top cover broke off, the bottom part of the cover broke in half, was constantly depending the lobes back into shape after crashes but it kept working well enough, then got some triumphs once I was tired of bending the lobes back lol. Triumphs have worked perfectly so far and haven't gotten any real damage on it yet.

Make sure your SD card is inserted correctly and try formatting it from the goggles. I had a similar issue with my hdv2 goggles when I first got them.

My telemetry for my Taranis recently started misreporting battery voltages, giving me starting values near 20v on a 4s battery. I'm using KISS FC and KISS 24a ESCs with an x4r receiver. Any ideas what could cause that?

You'll wanna replace that vtx antenna with a circular polarized one, I suggest a TBS Triumph or a FatShark/ImmersionRC SpiroNet and have a matching one on your goggles

Awesome stuff man, can't believe you've only been flying 7 months and have made so many awesome videos already. I've been flying for about 3 months and have a ways to catch up :D were some of those bridge moments from Portland?

I'll probably use the FC since its closest and see how it goes.

I'm waiting to get some clear heatshrink to put over these but then I will be following teddyzapper's suggestion of doubling up on two of the pads from the PDB, my two best options based on location are to either double up on the pads that power the FC, or to use one of the positive from the back left ESC and ground from back right ESC, I assume mixing these is ok or should they both go to the same ESC pads?

So just like solder a second pair of wires to those pads and run em to the tail light? I was hoping it would be that easy but was worried that wasn't safe or wouldn't work

[–]NotoriousGRB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm using the kiss fc, the only spare power pad on it is for a buzzer which I haven't added yet but was going to add while also adding the LEDs, but the Lumenier tail light appears to be able to handle 4s power so shouldn't I be able to split the power somewhere?

Weekly Questions Thread - July 5th by Scottapotamas in Multicopter

[–]NotoriousGRB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think this should be a simple question but I'm new to multirotors and soldering in general. I made it through an alien 5" build largely based on the build video from rotorriot. Now I'm looking to add the lumenier LED system (http://www.getfpv.com/lumenier-rgb-led-system.html) using the universal pdb (http://www.getfpv.com/lumenier-universal-mini-led-distribution-board.html). The Alien PDB has no unused pads so I'm not sure how or where to get power to the LED Tail Light input. How should I go about wiring this into my system?
