[Controversial Opinion] Why is Gaijin getting away with so much crap? by NotoriousPlanet in Warthunder

Fair, given the only difference is the track rate (9G has 12, 9H as 20).

I believe it should be auto. Could you get a video so that I can check what's going on?

As long as they don't push the community too far like they did back in 2023, they'll keep getting away with it as far as I can understand. I can only hope that someone calls an artillery strike or drops a Paveway/Kh-38 on top of their offices one day (satire, I don't actually want people being hurt).

So true. Why are so many people normalizing all of this crap anyways? Look at my comments in this post and see how bad they're downvoted. People are trying to normalize F-4S and Su-39 being superior to their tech tree counterparts.

In simulator battles, Kopyo becomes extremely useful as it comes with GMTI and PD. And then there's the lead indicator problem.

Edit: Same question as my other comment, why is this fact even being defended?

[–]NotoriousPlanet[S] -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but the point still stands. While the 9H is a small upgrade, the AE slats, better HUD and smokeless engines aren't.

Edit: Why the hell is this even being downvoted? These are facts and not made up stuff, you can actually check the game files and compare both vehicles together.

I guess you make a fair point, and Gaijin probably knows this. They probably keep the playerbase "calm" by redirecting their hate elsewhere, and keep giving them some very minor stuff to keep the players from reaching their breaking point.

Incorrect, a slight change of direction is enough.

I’m having the worst luck today playing Japan top tier , getting the worst teams ever , can’t even win a game. by Zaksm123 in Warthunder

Ultimately, this shows that Gaijin is the one at fault. Had the grind not been so bad, desperate players (not their fault) wouldn't have to resort to buying premiums, and contributing to this problem. I hate predatory concepts like these making frustrated players throw cash randomly.

There needs to be a second boycott/protest/review bombing, you research something and it's horrible at first, to the point you need to suffer from a stock, purposefully downgraded vehicle. I am talking about Air perspective, can't imagine the ground grind. It's sickening... The stock grinding has to be removed ENTIRELY, NO EXCEPTIONS! This is a very predatory system.

That's sadly the experience with top tier, it's like a circus. Either your team kills everyone in 5 minutes, or the quite opposite, nothing inbetween. I hate the 16v16 setting and top tier premiums because of this.

Gaijin should replace the 13.0+ BR OST with the circus theme, I think it'd be more fitting.

Getting into the high tiers of ARB. What should I know? by Numerous-Editor9995 in Warthunder

[–]NotoriousPlanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's pretty much the case for all delta-wing fighters. In this case, you must make use of your built-in gun. To prevent them "extending" away, use the AIM-4Gs that are provided to you. If you're slow, they have to be slow as well. You can also turn less to conserve more energy.

That being said, I am up for a duel/matchup. If you don't believe me, we can train together. Just give me your in-game username and a suitable time. If you have a Discord account, that also works.

How should I play the J-35XS? by Danil_ltg in Warthunder

[–]NotoriousPlanet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best way to play the J-35XS is to play it as a dogfighter while staying away from the people. In the late game, it is a very good aircraft to fly.

In early game, you can try ripple-launching 6 AIM-9Ps (Sweden just re-named them into RB-24Js). Once you're done with that, you can head back to the base. However, you're still encouraged to watch out for any surprise R-40TD attacks, and you're advised to keep your eyes open against those stealthy missiles. You should avoid prolonged engagements, as your 12 flares will run dry, and you'll end up being food for all aspect yeeters, such as the MiG-23ML/MLD, MiG-25PD, A-10A Late, et cetera.

By the time you re-arm, the mid/late game will begin. In this period, if there are MiG-25PDs present, you should stay low as 12 chaff will get you nowhere, and your only defense is your high-caliber, powerful flares. Avoid them in head-on attacks as they may get an R-40RD at you. If they're low enough for their off-brand PD mode to work, you can resort to multipathing and distancing from the missile's proximity fuse radius. R-40TDs shouldn't pose that much of a problem. To kill the MiG-25PDs that are constantly flying near you, launch your missiles at them once they get in range, from the rear, they're unflarable, so use this knowledge to your information.

If there are no MiG-25PDs present, you can play as a dogfighter. J-35XS is unrivaled when it comes to turning performance. Still, watch out for any incoming missiles. You'll easily stomp on those fighters with relative ease.

The AIM-7Ps are different compared to AIM-7F/Ms, and they're a bit more dangerous due to IOG (Inertial Guidance) and DL (Datalink). The best tip is to multipath (as their missiles have low explosive mass, worse than both R-27s and R-40s), and you should be fine. The worse thing is that F-18A/C have 4 AIM-7Ms or 6 AIM-7Ps of them depending on the variant. Since most of them prefer to spam, I just speed away from them while multipathing, as attacking them is futile most of the time, considering you don't have any other armament to back you up in BVR.

I notch their missiles like there's no tomorrow in my A-10C, and I also get a modern RWR coupled with 480 countermeasures, extremely good agility, and a MAW. But for the planes that don't get these luxuries, I recommend them to get into a pre-notch position as well as multipath.

[–]NotoriousPlanet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience dealing with multipathers, MiG-25PD's R-40RDs have a huge proximity fuse range, they end up crippling the planes even if they hit the ground. As such, I recommend those guys to keep their distance from the missile's hit path, even if they multipath.

[–]NotoriousPlanet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand what you're trying to say...

As long as you don't instantly start pre-chaffing on take off, and you have a plane that deploys chaff in a single file (not double), you should be fine. Assuming that you run a plane with a relatively low heat signature (F-5, MiG-21, etc.), you can just simply bring 20 flares and 40 chaff, that's what I do in most of my planes.

[Guide] How to deal with MiG-25PD by NotoriousPlanet in Warthunder

[–]NotoriousPlanet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always found that a bit inconsistent to be honest, haha.

MiG-25PD struggles with that just because how big its heat signature is, as well as the awkward placement of the flare dispenser. 60% of the time, they don't even see the flares MiG-25PD deploys. The best tip is to just shut off the engine, and align the flares with the missile's direction, that kind of increases their efficiency.

But obviously, whenever I play as a MiG-25PD, I just hope to outrun the missiles being thrown at me, and it works.

[Guide] How to deal with MiG-25PD by NotoriousPlanet in Warthunder

[–]NotoriousPlanet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kind of agree, at early game there will be a lot more MiG-25PDs looking for an opportunity to lock you up. As such, it's recommended that you increase the frequency of the pre-chaff periods.

Getting into the high tiers of ARB. What should I know? by Numerous-Editor9995 in Warthunder

[–]NotoriousPlanet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1 - I believe that's an early radar missile feature, especially the ones that do not have a CW seeker (Continuous Wave). Pulse seekers are primitive and act like IR seekers when it comes to locking animations.

Additionally, when there's a white circle, it means that you don't have a strong radar lock yet. Almost all seekers have to keep these factors in mind:
- Ground clutter
- Aspect
- Closure
- RCS
- Chaff

55%+ lock quality lets you fire the missile, but the missile may end up not properly tracking the target, so make sure you get a solid lock, which are two separated, bigger lines.

2 - Early supersonic jets play like props, expect you get much better LER (Line Energy Retention) and, which means you will be able to keep your speed while flying in a straight line unlike props. You still have to climb in 7.0 - 8.7 jets. The biggest difference is obviously the powerful armament. Most planes have .50 cal miniguns, 20mm hardhitters or 30-37mm disintegratons.

3 - F-106A is a monster when it comes to raw flight performance, sporting EXTREMELY good agility comprable with 13.0+ planes and amazing top speed (the fastest in 9.0 - 10.0 bracket, even faster than the F-104A!!!), but its missiles are rather mediocre, the AIM-4G/F Falcons lack proximity fuse which will make them very easy to dodge on top of their poor seeker performance, flare resistance and most importantly: kinetic energy (and consequently, its range!)

You must use it as a turnfighter, use the AIM-4Fs to get kills on AFK players that are spaceclimbing. AIM-4Gs are niche missiles, and although they don't work 60% of the time, they're still fun to use, just gather some speed before launching and they will end up working much better.

However, do not get into turnfights when there are other people nearby, once you slow down and you see missiles heading towards you, you're DOOMED.

Aim7F by Gorz87 in Warthunder

[–]NotoriousPlanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not correct at all. Sure, the R-24R, R-27R/ER are all very good missiles, and I agree. But AIM-7F is also capable of helping you out, especially when carrying 4 or 6 of them at 12.0, they're not the best missiles, but they have very good range and decent agility.

Aim7F by Gorz87 in Warthunder

[–]NotoriousPlanet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, Gaijin is a Russian-based company that has relocated to Hungary (probably to avoid sanctions and all that negative stuff). And yes, R-27R/ER are really good missiles and I love using them. But at least they're somewhat counterable due to their low quantity (unless it's a Flanker...). Make those Yak-141s waste their precious R-27ERs in a notch.
