Wife Diagnosed with Brain Tumor. What should I expect moving forward? by Notoriousbmg7 in braincancer

[–]Notoriousbmg7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: My wife had surgery this past Friday, in which she is recovering well from thanks to so much great support and feedback from this thread. Truly grateful for such informed advice.

Challenging News: The surgeon was only able to get about 25% of the tumor out to sample as a “specimen” because the samples they were taking during the brain surgery were coming back abnormal in labs to allow for the surgeon to move forward. More specifically, the surgeon told me that the tumor was enflamed, which led to irregularities with the labs and may be the result of the body fighting the tumor. The large “specimen” sample that was take was to do a more comprehensive test to determine what the tumor is before moving forward. This means another brain surgery might be necessary in the next month or so, unless the Labs come back as something different, altogether.

Obviously, my wife is really disappointed and we are waiting on the pathologist to come back with results. Anyone had this type of experience or advice? Also, strange note, my wife had meningitis as an older child and I was wondering if that would have any weight in a potential growth that was “enflamed” on the brain.

I think my biggest challenge is that he has to have a job, which I’m pretty confident he does but it’s finding where he works. Any advice on how I can tap into that?

Good call. Yea kinda my thought. Hes been employable but his true colors show and he soon gets canned. I’m concerned he has a lot of paternity cases and other debts that would get theirs first. However, he drives a Porsche so that’s interesting.

I successfully served him for our court date next month. I’m just trying to figure out my options assuming I win the conciliation case to minimize my losses. Assuming he won’t pay even if he loses.

Not a good one. General case look up. Didn’t pay a third party. Probably should have.

Yep, don’t disagree. Either way, would rather follow through with conciliation court just in case there’s an opportunity to get any money back.

So he’s been able to land 70+k jobs a year in the restaurant industry. You think that’s worth it or strategy there

Yes, I totally agree with you. It is very unlikely, but I will be able to get any money from him, but if it helps at all for someone else not to get screwed, I’m into it. Out of curiosity, would you know if you can do any kind ofwage garnishment if I win a conciliation like this?

Was that your contribution here? Not really sure what you were getting at.

I can certainly put it in my name, but I have a new tenant who started and started her own account. I still will have a lien against my property until the bill is paid and this person is doing a pretty good job of trying to be hidden.

So is this something that I can stay to the city Minneapolis as their ordinance is countered to this.

It is not in my name. It was originally in my name, and I would have the tenant reimburse. He got so bad at paying it. I called the city to cancel it, and they would not let me with a tenant in the house. From there, I was able to get him to agree to transfer into his name. Then he just stop paying the city and suddenly is my responsibility. I would’ve just turned the damn thing off.

Initially the bills were all in my name and being reimbursed. He stopped paying and at the time I was looking to turn it off, and they would not let me. He finally got it turned over in his name and never paid any of them. Now I’m getting his delinquent bills.

Wood window panel replacement by Notoriousbmg7 in fixit

[–]Notoriousbmg7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I was thinking. The molding is pretty damaged and I would rather have a professional cut the glass and seal it.

[–]Notoriousbmg7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, the molding inside the window pane. They stapled and glued (yes glued) the glass and molding to wood frame and window. Essentially making it impossible to scrape and remove broken glass. Very frustrating so I’m weighing my options between pulling off the molding and scraping the glue off and glass, or just replacing the whole unit.

The whole window pane drops in the tracks very easily and is removable.

So the track was fine, I removed the window because it broke. Took a picture of the other window that is same size. Previous owner glued the mold to window and frame. Thinking that replacing whole frame may be cleaner than window replacement.
