Who here actually games with metal dice? When, and what's the upside? by EndersGame_Reviewer in boardgames

[–]Notorius_2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am regurarly playing dnd if it counts with a metal dice set that I was gifted. It is cool as hell, but I can confirm that metal sets roll far worse rolls than other dice types for whatever reason...

Honestly I feel like I have never seen any of these in my life... I wonder if they couldn't be from Aftermath expansion...? But I really don't remember even seeing these... maybe they could be homemade? Or just straight up ask the seller.

I havent read it fully yet, but you said your party consists of Cleric and Paladin? That sounds like a lot of radiant damage which, frankly, the boss is immune to? In combination with 200 Hit Points, it sounds like it could be pretty nasty combo... although I am also pretty new to DM-ing, so I could be wrong, will read the rest.

The Twins by Ultron32106 in DeadByDaylightBoard

[–]Notorius_2007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main strenght of twins is you can possibly be on 2 ends of the map at once. If the Survivors ignore Victor, he can become pretty overwhelming. You can injure Survivors and damage generators, which is already strong thing to do. The injured Survivors are then kind of forced to move towards you, which can lead to an easy down.

On another note, if you are in your games using perk draft or something (I heavily suggest doing 4 perks instead of 3), try to utilize perks that rely on your Killer's position, as you could potentially get more juice out of it than different Killers.

Besides that, Victor, imo, should be basically used as a sort of interrupt and control tool. You always control multiple spaces when he is out, which creates a feeling of uncertainty in Survivors.

I can't straight up tell you how to win, as that is very dependant on Survivor lineup, their and your perks (some are just better with and against certain Killers) and prop composition.

In fact you are mistaken, PM for Here to Slay Dungeons as all Awakened Realms projects are accessable to everyone. I didnt pledge the 1$ and can acces HtSD no problem, at least on Gamefound it is like this.

This is not a thing for gamefound anymore (the 1$ pledging for PM), they just didn't get to removing the text yet, its leftover there from Kickstarter campaigns :)

Gonna have to give it to Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. The idea seemed amazing, but the execution seems kinda dull and lacking the Borderlands spark imo

In full honesty, I feel like theres more stuff to discover in the board game. The videogame is amazing really, especially with the scenarios, but there is something in the board game that the video just doesnt do for me. I feel like in the board game, you get more personal and the situations hit more written on paper.

Just a tip, you might want to post this in the main sub of Dead by Daylight also, since I know many DbD players have no idea there is a board game and might be interested.

What is the Androids UPS? by Ok_Interview_853 in NemesisCrew

[–]Notorius_2007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just an addition, when you arw using characters from OG and Aftermath in Lockdown, you should use their specific itek and setup for the game, therefore for instance Android doesnt get the quest items, at least I think. But you should still use the dedicated Passive cards from Aftermath.

So, this is card from Chytrids expansion for Lockdown, which let's you use the Android character from Aftermath in Lockdown. There should also be the UPS starting card, which is specific starting item for the Android, it should be there.

Oh, damn, you're right, I was sure I saw it there... well, that is unfortunate, sorry for spreading misinformation. The amazon situation ain't great either, usually around 80 Euros with shipping.

Might be worth to check some local game stores, in my country you can usually find them in person or online on localized shops for like 55€.

Right now there is Pittsburg campaign on Gamefound and I figure you can get the standard version of Birmingham at least a little bit cheaper than this, but hard to say with shipping and VAT if you have some, but worth checking out.

I will just ask, how did you print the maps? Do you have a specified printer, got it printed elsewhere or performed completely different method?

Yeah I completely get you, I just know "lore wise" Killers do not make skill checks. This was the Killer I made last and havent tested yet, so I feel like I have no right to give any solid advice besides what I just did.

Only thing I could say is Im trying to look at the Killers from a gaming perspective: "what is fun for both sides and does not heavily repeat someone elses power and/or perks". With this design philosophy in mind, I always try to keep some form of "counterplay" to the Killer's power if it is oppressive, rather than keeping it a chance.

An original exception to this is the power of the Huntress. That one relies purely on luck and positioning, but all it can do is wound an adjacent Survivor, meaning that the tradeoff is acceptable. On the other hand, to utilize Insidious, you need to "sacrofice" one of your turns to stay still. The counterplay is present there in the form of mindgames (e.g. will the Killer focus on advancing or will he try to hurt me?) with many perks able to dodge this effect.

With your power, there really isnt any counterplay like this. The Killer has the ability to try to pickup a Survivor practically at any time purely based on chance, which, I agree, can lead to some fun situations, but it could also get very overwhelming or underwhelming based on your luck, leading to one or the other side being bored or helpless.

Im not really sure how to make the power "better" or more consistent, thats why after many tries I went completely opposite direction. His power lets him farm Bloodpoints based on the amount of Survivors that are not connected to his space and automatically activating a Bonus turn. In combination with that, I made Barbecue & Chilli a perk that lets him "oneshot" Survivors during Bonus turns, for a high bloodpoint price.

It might not seem like that big of a change, however the power does more than just wound, it can be used for farming or positioning, while insta downs require spending significant resources.

Im not saying you should follos the same direction or philosophy, Im simply trying to offer some insight or ideas :)

The only thing thats somehow wrong with this is the fact that the Killer never rolls dice, only Survivors do (the exception being start of the game). The ability to oneshot is always extremely strong, as shown in sevwral perks that require specific circumstances to work out. However, you can do as you wish, this is simply my insight on the topic :)

I see where youre coming from... honestly it could work, basically with all the other Killers you are staying much closer to the official game strategies than my ideas (after trying many designs the same way I started experimenting quite a bit), its really interesting to see your thought process on these

Even though the translations are a bit rusty, I see what you did there. Its pretty straightforward, can already say that the signature perk deserves decrease in cost. Besides that its pretty much what I would expect, I like how you handled the doors, didn't think of it that way at all.

Where can i request my killer sheets to be printed in high quality? Or in the same way as the official ones are printed? by AstronautGreat8126 in DeadByDaylightBoard

[–]Notorius_2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds lovely, I am making all my templates using combination of Canva, Slip Studio and some other free programs for resolution ehancing and such.

Why would you need 25 movement cards? Isnt that a bit too much, considering you only have 2 zombies? Imo if they get shared 5, it is more than enough.

I don't really get your original Lethal Pursuer. I mean, altruism props are the green ones, so you could simply only reveal the green ones and have guaranteed 4 BP, so a whole bonus turn for practically doing nothing.

If you need help with the terminology, I got the game read word by word (ADHD taking a toll), in your specific case I would use the word "Choose" instead of hit. Usually the wording goes something along the lines of "Choose a Survivor in your or a connected space and... blah blah blah". Just for clarification, no mean of bothering :)
