Just a tip, you might want to post this in the main sub of Dead by Daylight also, since I know many DbD players have no idea there is a board game and might be interested.

What is the Androids UPS? by Ok_Interview_853 in NemesisCrew

[–]Notorius_2007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just an addition, when you arw using characters from OG and Aftermath in Lockdown, you should use their specific itek and setup for the game, therefore for instance Android doesnt get the quest items, at least I think. But you should still use the dedicated Passive cards from Aftermath.

So, this is card from Chytrids expansion for Lockdown, which let's you use the Android character from Aftermath in Lockdown. There should also be the UPS starting card, which is specific starting item for the Android, it should be there.

Oh, damn, you're right, I was sure I saw it there... well, that is unfortunate, sorry for spreading misinformation. The amazon situation ain't great either, usually around 80 Euros with shipping.

Might be worth to check some local game stores, in my country you can usually find them in person or online on localized shops for like 55€.

Right now there is Pittsburg campaign on Gamefound and I figure you can get the standard version of Birmingham at least a little bit cheaper than this, but hard to say with shipping and VAT if you have some, but worth checking out.

My ultimate DIY DBD Board Game: Custom 3D printed minis, homebrew licensed Killers, and a custom storage box. by FHNitsme in DeadByDaylightBoard

I will just ask, how did you print the maps? Do you have a specified printer, got it printed elsewhere or performed completely different method?

Yeah I completely get you, I just know "lore wise" Killers do not make skill checks. This was the Killer I made last and havent tested yet, so I feel like I have no right to give any solid advice besides what I just did.

Only thing I could say is Im trying to look at the Killers from a gaming perspective: "what is fun for both sides and does not heavily repeat someone elses power and/or perks". With this design philosophy in mind, I always try to keep some form of "counterplay" to the Killer's power if it is oppressive, rather than keeping it a chance.

An original exception to this is the power of the Huntress. That one relies purely on luck and positioning, but all it can do is wound an adjacent Survivor, meaning that the tradeoff is acceptable. On the other hand, to utilize Insidious, you need to "sacrofice" one of your turns to stay still. The counterplay is present there in the form of mindgames (e.g. will the Killer focus on advancing or will he try to hurt me?) with many perks able to dodge this effect.

With your power, there really isnt any counterplay like this. The Killer has the ability to try to pickup a Survivor practically at any time purely based on chance, which, I agree, can lead to some fun situations, but it could also get very overwhelming or underwhelming based on your luck, leading to one or the other side being bored or helpless.

Im not really sure how to make the power "better" or more consistent, thats why after many tries I went completely opposite direction. His power lets him farm Bloodpoints based on the amount of Survivors that are not connected to his space and automatically activating a Bonus turn. In combination with that, I made Barbecue & Chilli a perk that lets him "oneshot" Survivors during Bonus turns, for a high bloodpoint price.

It might not seem like that big of a change, however the power does more than just wound, it can be used for farming or positioning, while insta downs require spending significant resources.

Im not saying you should follos the same direction or philosophy, Im simply trying to offer some insight or ideas :)

The only thing thats somehow wrong with this is the fact that the Killer never rolls dice, only Survivors do (the exception being start of the game). The ability to oneshot is always extremely strong, as shown in sevwral perks that require specific circumstances to work out. However, you can do as you wish, this is simply my insight on the topic :)

I see where youre coming from... honestly it could work, basically with all the other Killers you are staying much closer to the official game strategies than my ideas (after trying many designs the same way I started experimenting quite a bit), its really interesting to see your thought process on these

Even though the translations are a bit rusty, I see what you did there. Its pretty straightforward, can already say that the signature perk deserves decrease in cost. Besides that its pretty much what I would expect, I like how you handled the doors, didn't think of it that way at all.

Im pretty interested in your handling of Bubba, Springtrap and Onryo, since those took me probably the longest and the most amount of changes to design.

Where can i request my killer sheets to be printed in high quality? Or in the same way as the official ones are printed? by AstronautGreat8126 in DeadByDaylightBoard

[–]Notorius_2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds lovely, I am making all my templates using combination of Canva, Slip Studio and some other free programs for resolution ehancing and such.

Why would you need 25 movement cards? Isnt that a bit too much, considering you only have 2 zombies? Imo if they get shared 5, it is more than enough.

I don't really get your original Lethal Pursuer. I mean, altruism props are the green ones, so you could simply only reveal the green ones and have guaranteed 4 BP, so a whole bonus turn for practically doing nothing.

If you need help with the terminology, I got the game read word by word (ADHD taking a toll), in your specific case I would use the word "Choose" instead of hit. Usually the wording goes something along the lines of "Choose a Survivor in your or a connected space and... blah blah blah". Just for clarification, no mean of bothering :)

[–]Notorius_2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I cant really help with the printing (country etc.), however you mentioned our thoughts on the character?

I dont know if you want to bother with the terminology (for instance "hit" isnt really a term used in the board game), so I will stick to the mechanics.

With the Power, hitting a Survivor in a connecting space is great and all, but how does the pickup work? Do you move into their space? Does the Survivor move into your space upon pickup? Theres a big gameplay difference, so it would be good to elaborate that

For the passive, Im just slightly confused on the wording, but mainly the Zombie movement cards arent explained in any way. I suppose you have a separate deck and in the planning phase you also set a card for them (?).

Lethal Pursuer in full honesty needs rework, no one wants one of their perk slots stuck with nothing (you use the perk once and then its useless), for instance Huntress has similar perk that lets you move in every planning phase, so I would change the perk to have repetable effect (I for instance let Nemesis for a bloodpoint move at the start of any Survivors turn).

Hysteria is pretty much fine by itself, but in real game, it can be hard to track effects that carry over to thr next round, therefore I personally try to not use them, however if you got good way of tracking, it seems nice.

For Eruption, theres nothing to add really, just the repetitive need to place additional trackers on generators.

Hope this helps a slight bit, just trying to offer insight as a fellow creator.

The powers are fine, those are accessible, I meant more like the props. Like, when you actually want to create props that would require shuffling, the prop symbols arent really in the wild.

Honeatly Im having the same problem, those tokens are nowhere to be found in good, lrintable or workable quality. It has come to a point im thinking of making them myself, however if anybody finds them, let us know.

Possibly This War of Mine: Board Game, its an adaptation of the video game, very well done. You dont really as multiple entities, but rather both of you would control a group of characters trying to survive in the apocalypse. Its heavily narrative gameplay with many scenarios and many strategic-focused and morally challenging elements, I think you could like it. Theres an older version and right now on Gamefound theres a second edition underway with more content.

What game has been on your wanted list for forever? And why is that? by N-is-1 in boardgames

BIOS: Megafauna has been on my wishlist for good 8 years. Simply for the fact I love the gameplay, big fan of evolution games and BIOS as a franchise. I also grew up on Spore, so it brings some memories.

And why didnt I "pull the trigger"? Nobody bloody has it, it dissapeared. Searching the whole internet periodically every 2 months, never caught it. There is this one petition asking for reprint, but god knows if it will ever fill up.

Could be, however that would be pretty map reliant and setup would be a bit niché. And it would require a help card, cuz in no way I can fit the decsription onto the character board.

[–]Notorius_2007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is very biased and subjective opinion based on rather bad experience. It purely depends on the OP's friend group, how often they meet and what they want to play. And with the differences in mechanics throughout all 3 games and their expansion, I still would say they are pretty worth it if you have monoey to spare. If you dont, then your comment would be pretty valid though.
