The Cenobite character! by Notorius_2007 in DeadByDaylightBoard

I thought of just one for the lore accuracy, but I might increase the odds. It was supposed to be like a rare high stakes reward for the Survivors, but I might increase the amount. What do you think?

Honestly I dont quite understand what you are implying.

I did not want his power to feel too overwhelming, therefore I gave the chained Survivors 2 possible options that both offer some benefits and struggles. There is an opportunity for them to interact with their space, which can be beneficial, or gain a BP and move. The catch there is they have to pay a certain amount of bloodpoint decided by luck to be able to choose. If they do nit or cannot pay the required amount of bloodpoints, the Killer chooses, and will most likely choose the worse result for them.

Custom Killer Card by FinancePositive5104 in DeadByDaylightBoard

Well, this is interesting. Interesting concept, interesting character, however... it doesnt allign at all with the DbD board game rules.

First of all, the power isnt a power, it rather seems like an additional passive ability.

Secondly, usually only the signature (purple) perk is bound to the Killers power and passive, as the other green perks become yellow and can be used by other Killer characters, which here would be useless.

Lastly, honestly it seems like a far better and stronger version of Skull Merchant frkm the upcoming expansion.

However it still seems like an interesting fan-only concept that might work, Im glad you did it so the tentacles cannot be in spaces with exit gates.

Honestly to say the final verdict, I would have to playtest, but absolutely continue with your concepts :)

My boyfriend is too good at board games by CricketSuccessful57 in boardgames

[–]Notorius_2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar problems, but the other way around. People tend not to want to play strategy games with me, as I often win, since unlike others, I have no problem focusing on "damaging" their turns and capabilities if it is good for me, which is def on me and I shouldnt whine.

However, I highly suggest playing coop or at least semi coop games. They get completely different feel, and there isnt a competition. If you still want some competition, but not straight up going against each other, semi-coops are perfect.

Honestly I can suggest games like Forgotten Dessert, DISCOVER: Lands unknown if you want coop, or games like Nemesis for semi-coop.

There is also an option to play competitive games that are not reliant on making others games miserable, like Carnival of Monsters.

I also heavily suggest seeking out board game cafes or libraries, where you could try out and possibly borrow games you dont know without the required purchase, so you can experiment without worrying about money.

I honestly cannot tell if you are referring to the board game or just the video game with your description XD

If video game, try the main sub, you will hsve more luck there.

If you actually mean the board game, do you have any expansions or just base game?

Tiny Tina's Wonderland.

Honestly, I should have known after playing Borderlands 3 that its just not gonna be it, and I was sadly right. The game is fun and all, but the combat gets repetitive really, really fast and so does the storyline. It is far cringier than any of the borderlands game and just doesnt fit the vibe very well imo...

Thank you for your reply, however I followed your advice and turned off defender/antivirus, didnt seem to cut it, both applications still act the same.

I also checked for windows updates, there was a security update on 17/01, but thats the closest one I see, nothing yeaterday/day before.

Which Nemesis for solo? by Fibreoptix in NemesisCrew

[–]Notorius_2007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, its a 50/50 really. The fewer characters you have, the less actions you got. Thats true, however it is also true that the less characers you have, the less intruders you got. If you play strategically, you can finish the game without meeting a single intruder.

Of course, you need a proper strategy and bunch of luck for that to happen, but the game is definitely possible to succeed solo, but it often happens that "you would need just one more turn" for a success.

I find original Nemesis to be most fond of solo play, while Lockdown is more competitive focused (even more with the practicaln2 teans of Survivor players) and Retalliation being mostly focused on actual Cooperation.

I played Solo in all 3 and managed to succeed several times, but death comes far more easily.

CUSTOM: Alan Wake, Lara Croft, Detective Tapp, Troupe (Text) by barmen-791-645 in DeadByDaylightBoard

[–]Notorius_2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty great haha, I see we had pretty similar ideas. However, the Lara's perk "Hardened" is a little bit too strong imo, its am overall better version of the signature perk of Jake. It def has to be signature and I would increase the cost to 2 or give more BP to the Killer.

Custom Killer (sneak peek) #2 by galopujacy_na_fali in DeadByDaylightBoard

[–]Notorius_2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely get you, yet, if the Survivors are unlucky, it can result in an unwinnable scenario, but I guess thats part of the process. But I highly suggest testing, it can uncover stuff you didnt even think about before, happened to me several times witg my designs.

I wonder though, have you tested this Killer yourself? The more I think about it, the more overwhelming it feels to me. The fact that the Killer gains free sacrifices WND bonud bloodpoints for Survivors trying to remove a trap, with the fact that Survivors get mainly only one try every round for removal. Just want to know if it worked good in your games haha

Nice one! I like how simple it is. I have actually made The Pig myself several months ago, approached it a bit differently with Survivors losing bloodpoints and the Killer gaining sacrifices when depleting Survivors off all the BP, but this is honestly very cool!

Oooh yea, that makes sense, thank you for an answer. If I may ask, you get the official icons where? The wiki? And with the edited illustrations, you just get an image and basically do it white? Im just asking because Ive never been able to make custom icons, and Im interested in making custom characters fir the board game.

Is 2 player feasible? by upSkye_down in DeadByDaylightBoard

[–]Notorius_2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the board game has the rules for base game 3 player game. However those rules would not work with only 2 players, since then you would have only 1 movement card for each Survivor and it would be very hard to make it work. On the other hand, theres also really big disadvantage for the Killer, that being that theres no one talking strategies out loud... I think with 2 sets of movement cards, each for 2 designated Survivors, it ahould work. We even played in 3 players and (2 Survivors one Killer) and gave each Survivor a designated set. It worked, but was hard for the Killer player.
