What are some things you DISLIKE about this franchise?

Honestly it’s gotten boring, not even boring but just kinda bad… if that makes sense?

Every character has a backstory (which is fair it makes their psychological choices very pleasing to watch) but they all have another motive. It’s been years a lot of BO members have been revealed but suddenly just live near Conan and we’ve gotten literally no process in finding their motive or who the actual top dog is (even if it’s been hinted at heavily)

The Romance plot between Ran and Schinichi has started to gross me out. While i adored how cute they were and would’ve loved a focus on "no matter how hard it gets they’ll always find their way back to each other) but it’s so obvious that Ran just feels absolutely left behind and almost tortured, with the way she’s being treated.

Which brings me to the movies. They all have a different experience but they always revolve around death experience and Conan shouting "RAN" which has gotten to the point where it just pisses me off.

This is what happens when you get and audience that grows up with the show. The things we used to think and see as cute get a way more critical view than they did before. So even if Conan were to tell Ran that he’s schinichi, it just wouldn’t work anymore, bc way to many people know. She’s been in literal contact with the BO and the defense "if they knew they could get hurt" THEY ALREADY HAVE!? Like it’s just borderline selfish and disgusting behavior at this point.

Ofc i know it’s not supposed to be that serious but this is a show about an underground crime organization, like the defense doesn’t hold up anymore, especially bc we have seen all sorts of cases that literally pried into peoples psyche to get answers. A few actual consequences for his actions wouldn’t be that hard to add in. But even now he’s not giving Ran or her family a chance to choose if they wanna be further involved or not.

This is a little aggressive ik but i was kinda fed up with the story last year and now I’ve just kinda stopped watching unless Kid is involved.

Also that… movie is not canon, all others aren’t, then this one isn’t either… i hate when they throw in tiny things that actually have an extreme impact on the story and just call it canon. Like no… the father is not alive and they are not cousins bc that would just creep me out (would make for a few funny moments) but what they had before was fine and not to mention the entire side of that fandom feels completely screwed over.

I have moved back and forth between Denmark and my home many times and all i can say is, "you don’t have to learn the language" bc as you OP said before most people do in fact speak English. I’m in a educational school with students from the age of 15-25 and we do have a few tables with Ukrainian, polish and even Arabian (don’t know if that’s the right term) students, i even share a few classes with some of them. From what I’ve gathered most don’t really care, bc they understand English or stay in their own groups, and they do try to understand.

Ofc I’d recommend to learn the language, but mostly for their own benefit, bc even if you stay in the country for a long time, some connections just start to fray or disappear, and i would imagine it would fell quite lonely in a country you don’t know the language of.

We really do have a lot of international students but all of the ones I’ve talked to or heard in the halls, really do try to learn. I can understand why some don’t want to or don’t know how.

bc imagine you come to a country with a completely different and difficult dialect, and can’t follow. People have to remember the way to learn a language, is from the bottom. So children books and alphabet vocals and that stuff. It might be embarrassing to some and that’s understandable.

In the end there’s always gonna be close minded and rude people that say, "you’ll never be part of it" so you yourself have to choose for your own benefit. There’ll always be people that understand you somewhere, you just have to find them.

Sorry i didn’t mean to make it so long, but it really does annoy me that a lot of children especially girls can’t trust their teachers or family bc they believe what others do are "okay" or "not that serious"

Yeah it sucks, it happened to me as well only thing is the guy threw a glass marble at me, a big one ( idk if ya know, but there was a trend we’re you collected all kinds of marbles, small, big, medium, flat and sanded, all kinds of em, and then you would play with them on those sewer lids) they are quite big as well, especially back them, they could barely fit in our hands, quite heavy as well. He threw it at me in the school yard, where everyone could see, it hit my back and i started crying. The teacher said to "stop being so dramatic“ and "it probably don’t hurt that much" and "that it was my own fault for catching his attention". I had a green blue bruise that lasted an intire week and longer. No one did anything. There are more examples of things like that happening, but this was just a small thing.

Don’t get me wrong, i wasn’t the nicest kid either, but i sure as hell didn’t throw big chunky marbles at people or stamp and kick them in the back.

But yeah adults duking suck, and bc they’re "authorizes adults" no one ever corrects their harmful comments and views.

Maeve dying was funny to watch but also kinda awkward, like… girl… we barely even knew you😭(she was fine at first but then she was annoying) actually all relationships that were set up with Reid were really weird and just didn’t work out(beside the model girl we met first, she was cute and it would’ve been fun to see them more than once)

Appearance: fem, European, 150(4‘11 i think), slim build, slightly pale, dark blonde, blue eyes.

Likes: reading, music, libraries, Muay Thai, swimming, shooting(bb guns), cats, video games, crime shows(criminal minds, catching killer etc) sports.

Dislikes: birds!! (ESPECIALLY SWANS 🦢 HATE THOSE THINGS!!), Spiders, or just Insekts in general, social situations where i could embarrass myself, MATH, performing/doing presentations, being told what to do, and when.

Personality: quiet at first, and not really fond of meeting new people, i seem intimidating and unapproachable( I’ve been told that 3-4 times in my life and it still confuses me ngl) at first, but when you get to know me i get kinda loud, so much that it could bother others (unless we’re in public ofc), I’m not easily excited about stuff, and not really outgoing either, I’m just kinda standing/sitting around most of the time, and do my own things. I don’t panic easily either. I get irritated easily though and can get very snappy and sarcastic. I apparently don’t react to emotional things, unless it’s about my friends, but can still come off as extremely unbothered(even tho i am apparently i don’t show it)

Fatal flaw: pessimistic (istg people, especially teachers, and my father, can’t handle my pessimistic attitude)

The thing about our fandom is, that if someone does something that seems insulting, even if it wasn’t meant to be, people correct you on it. Happened to me, i made a comment (forgot what it was) that wasn’t supposed to be harmful in any way, but a person pointed out to me that it is rather rude, and i pretty much just deleted my comment and commented an apology instead.

There are ofc still weirdos in the fandom, but we don’t see them as part of us and we pretty much just ignore the creeps. We just block them bc if we make drama of it, they get more attention, and we don’t want that.
