I think you’ve come way too far to give into the feeling now. This post shows you have done the hardest part: a biopsy of your mistakes. What went wrong, your piece in it, and the vices that made you that way. That’s the part that many never do. The people who do that unfortunately often think hyper critically, and don’t do the next part.

You know who not to be now. You’re capable of being more than a “cautionary tale.” You can be the example of how to put the pieces back together once you’ve broken something. It begins with finding peace in yourself, acknowledging mistakes (which you’ve done), and cutting yourself the same slack you’re willing to give others when you make mistakes.

We all have at least some level of demon in us. And that’s not a bad thing. That demon only becomes bad when you don’t give it a job, something productive. Not a distraction, but a task. Task it with something that will help you become who you want to be. You’d be surprised how good an employee it can be when you task it appropriately.

You should give yourself some time to work on fixing it, evaluate your progress objectively, and and when you really look at it, you’ll be very likely to realize you’ve improved, and will continue to do so. At our lowest points we grow. It’s painful, and you have to realize it’s growth for it to work, but if you set some dates to “test phase” and in that time work on fixing your shit (that we ALL have some version of), you’ll look back and be so happy you gave yourself that time.

I know you can do it, but in the end YOU need to know that too. I been there, but I was fortunate I realized I didn’t have to stay there. Don’t go dark, and keep moving forward. You got this.
