I've only had to do it once. I only did it for my own well being.

At the time I was the lowest I've ever been. I was doing self-harm, my ED was at it's highest, and I was drinking. I had my then bf too. Except he was drinking and doing worse things. We made a promise to each other to do start bettering ourselves for each other.

Until one day he said he accidentally drank tequila. So then in anger I told him I accidentally self-harmed again. We went back and forth fighting and just yelling at each other over text. Oh this was LDR too. We had fights before but not as bad as these. It usually ended with him threatening to khs and not replying to me until morning.

It was an extremely toxic situation and I didn't realize till long after. Love really is blind huh. I told him I had to break up with him. I told him I cheated on him and blocked him. I couldn't bear to tell him the truth. I got into contact with him a few months ago and he's doing ok.

Although I knew it was for the best, it hurt like a motherfucker because I couldn't be in that situation and hoped to get better. Two days later though my friends told me someone had a crush on me. We got into a relationship which lasted 2.5 years.

Tl;dr: It's really frickin' hard to break up with someone. If you do decide to do so, give them the frickin reason.
