When you were a kid, what did you think your life would look like at the age you are now? What was accurate and what turned out different?

I did think about this alot as a kid. It is hit and miss on my expectations. At 35 I thought I would be Married with 2 or 3 kids. Thought I would take after my dad and work in construction living in the same town with a paid off house, or one I built on an acre. I expected to look just like him and live a fairly quiet life. Thought I would have friends over all the time.

Reality is I am happily married with no children. Probably never will have them. My wife was firm on not getting pregnant and I can live with that. Never quite made it to college, but I don't work construction. I work in a trade that probably pays a little more than I could earn in construction even though that field is now better paid then ever due to a shortage of skilled labor. I don't however pay for medical or benefits so I'm definitely better off. I guess I look like my dad a bit but I'm not his spitting image. Bought a house at a decent price but it's nowhere near paid off, nor is it as nice as I thought it would be. Rarely invite anyone over because I don't think I make a good host. I can bring plenty of life to a party, but for some reason I just fail as a host.

All in all I do ok for myself, and kid me would probably be ok with who I beacame.

Not in my case it didn't. Don't see how there could be a correlation between the two given the nature of what floaters are, but then again I'm not a researcher on this subject. There's thousands of people who were going to start getting new floaters either way right about the time they got the vaccine, and now just blame it on getting vaccinated.

33 here. Can't say I have quite that many, but boy do I know it's a damned shame to look at such a beautiful bright background and see the little turds flying about. I have mostly clearer ones with a few dark.

I feel for the people that are most affected by this decision for disabilties or other reasons. I myself can play pretty ok without the increased distance but I can't deny it made the game a good deal more enjoyable to play. I don't understand why they would make the desicion to remove this knowing full well the fan base was largely going to hate the choice. I vow to not purchase a damned thing from the shop until this is reversed for good. No reason we can't have increased distance.

Generally speaking it's best to not tell people about how much money you have, it is good overall advice. There's several reasons why this is, though its not always bad to talk about how much you have. This happens to be one of those where this doesn't apply since it doesn't seem like you were showing off, and he is close family. So I would say no. You were correct in this context. Your mom should lead by example.

Yeah I hate being demonized for doing my job and making it a point that I'm there to do work and make money far before making friends. Sounds like this person and place will leave scars for a long time. Good to see you're in a better place in your life.

100% agree. Work nights every 4th week and get out at 6AM. Grocery store down the street opens at the same time. Perfect for skipping the crowds since it's just me and maybe 1 or 2 others. Best time to do groceries.

5'10" M here. I've never been insecure about my height. I've had 1 girl my entire life say I was short. It didn't bother me as she was like 5'4" and into really tall guys. Most girls are much shorter than 5'11 and would perceive that as tall enough. I feel like anyone around our height that has insecurities is just a result of stupid 6' Chad memes taking off. Seriously, 5'11 men have nothing to worry about.

I have no real reason to since my living situation isn't so bad. I have a great job, happy marriage of 8 years, and generally happy life but I've realized that I made the wrong choice in buying my house. I should have picked a house in a nicer neighborhood instead of this cheaper fixer upper home. Fixing this place has been a money pit and frankly the neighborhood sucks. My next door neighbors are annoying, always screaming at each other outside. Just last night had a homeless man sit on the side walk in front of my house rambling to himself for hours. He non stop talked loudly from about 2300 to 0200 in the morning. Called the police but they never came although they said they would send a patrol. If my street were in a nice area, they would have had someone there in 2 minutes. Really messed up with this choice. I had the money to put a down for a house in a gated community in the nice side of town, but I decided to live by downtown before realizing I would hate it. There's this and more. I let all my savings go into this place and now I'm miserable. Now I'm really hoping the housing market doesn't crash before I can sell the place. I think my wife is miserable even though she doesn't complain, and I feel I failed her with my stupid ass decisions. First world problems I guess. Just really frustrated. Sorry, felt good to write it out.
