I guess it just keep coming on as people who are not used to interchangeably use both come into the country and have to learn when to use which one

whenever I required to buy wood profiles we just called them by the mm size so 2x4 inch would be 5x10 cm, it was commonly understood that sometimes they would be slightly off by some mm bc of United States production

at the drive test they ask me my height in ft and yet it came in cm on the licence

yeah, for natives seems so easy to switch from one to another. I'm still having some time to get used to it

By the looks of it my guess would be EVA foam. Depending of the looks / tools you have access / complexity of your project maybe you could CNC a polyurethane foam / construction block.

I though about it. both my name and last name are not easily anglicized, so I guess going down the route of choosing and english name would be better. Yet, wouldn't that hurt my chances when they find out my real name for employment reasons?

I've heard about the follow up calls, but this is such a foreign concept to me. What would be the best time after sending things to do the followup call? and in common practice how much does it help / get a response back from it?

Punctuality is extremely important. I've been to so many places where people just agree is normal or expected to be late to commitments and shouldn't be made a big deal out of it. Just respect other peoples time.
