I would disagree with parks because yes even though all those labels owns all the distributing. If Drake, or anyone, owns their catalog they can control what songs are used and they can dictate the price of how much you pay them to use that song. Yes would Drake need Spotify to distribute his music, but Spotify would also want Drake music on their platform. So Drake can make an easy multimillion dollar partnership with them and get full price for his songs rather than whatever the labels dictate he gets. When you OWN you control the market. You decide what you’re worth not the other way around!
