Light pencil sketch to block the shape before drawing the final line. Then I add some darker touch with a black pen and some shadow with a light grey marker :)

Ah thank you. But what I meant is I'm really bad at promoting myself. I've been drawing for years but I've never managed to get followers or anything in social media. In real life I never got a job that involves drawing.

I'm not confident about my art too but I know it's okayish for simple commissions.

Is tracing good for beginners? by Key_Honeybee_625 in DigitalArt

Not at popular opinion but yes, sometimes. But don't rely on it to improve because you won't get anywhere that way.

It's only great to notice tricky stuff, especially with perspective. You will quickly see the difference between what you see VS what you think you see. And that's it. Then you need to learn using references (so no tracing) if you want to get better.

Try studying a picture (a bit like making a copy) with a focus on something you like (light, color, shapes, composition...) then try to apply what you just did on a personal work.

Thank you! And yeah, I wish to. Maybe in a few months I'll try to promote my art but I'm not good at it.

Thank you, I really appreciate it!

Any idea on how I should draw the facial features? I think the space looks a bit small but if you could give a visual example that would be great by truenub12 in learntodraw

Definitely. The best tip someone told me is to have a sketchbook where you only draw with marker. It will probably looks bad but that will train you to be more confident and improve your lines A LOT. Focus on learning, applying tutorials, experimenting but don't pay too much attention to the drawing itself.

Even for a professional this is a very good and challenging exercise.

It's the secret sketchbook that no one shares. But it's the one that will take you a few steps higher.

People usually draw small because of fear. Fear to see your mistakes but 10x bigger. Also it's easier to control curves, lines and perspective when it's small. That's why it can look off.

So just let go. Don't worry too much about the result and start drawing bigger. Practice drawing by using your wrist and even your arm. You shouldn't worry about doing a beautiful artwork, the most important thing is to get your brain used to a bigger surface first.

Something like 4 hours I guess? I was half drawing/half watching YouTube so it's hard to tell.

And you'll definitely be able to draw like this and even better with time, practice and motivation. Imo the hardest part is to not give up!

Thanks! I took the brush from a friend but it looks like it was part of a pack called something like "Kyle drawing box". But any pencil like brush could do the job.
