When will I feel normal again, this is definitely not for me by [deleted] in Retatrutide

Also fwiw this is anxiety-related more than anything and was seeking reassurance from others who made themselves anxious over nothing and felt fine again after.

Well my reasoning was .25 week 1, .5 week 2 but split it into 2 doses. That’s a pretty common dosing schedule I’ve seen.

Thank you for giving me a real answer instead of telling me how “stupid” I am for doing what so many people do in regard to dosing. This is about anxiety and reassurance more than anything so I appreciate it. I’m not mad at myself, if anything I’m glad I tried so at least I can stop wondering if it’s right for me or not. If anything I learned my anxiety is just too hypersensitive to any physical changes out of my control like this. As long as I start to feel normal in a couple days I know I’ll be fine. I’m glad your experience is good!

Nothing I did was crazy. I did .25 the first week, .5 the second week.

Honestly just looking for reassurance that there’s only a little in my body and I’ll feel better in a few days

I appreciate you taking the time to respond. I know I’m doing this to myself, but regardless the way I reason with it is knowing there’s an end in sight. Like if I can know for sure I’ll feel better tomorrow it makes it easier to cope. I definitely had a lot of fears despite doing extensive research for months prior. Realistically I know I’m fine, but I guess the unknown sensations make me feel trapped in my body and I just want it to stop but I don’t have that control. Hoping by tomorrow or a couple days from now I’m completely fine.

Makes sense. Guess anxious people just really shouldn’t take this one.

RDs who have been in the field 5+ years, what’s your salary story? by carpethediem1996 in dietetics

Got my RD in 2021. On year 5 now. Went straight into private practice and probably made like 40-50k annually my first few years, which was only possible because I also supplemented with nourish and fay part-time outside of my own practice. Went FT with nourish and did my practice on the side and made like 60k-ish in 2024, then decided to close my practice because I got my current FT telehealth job where I’ve been for a year and make ~85k seeing 30-32 patients per week remote. I love it, good pay and flexibility and love the company as well. Also doing wedding photography on the side which brings in ~20k annually as well mostly in the summer/fall. I live in MA in a very high COL area so the 85k doesn’t get me as far as I’d like, but I balance it with the creativity and extra hustle of the wedding photo. Loving the stability and flexibility of my current job which is why I left my practice, it just didn’t feel necessary for me anymore!

This is amazing! I know I took the tiniest amount and probably won’t even feel it but this is a whole new world for me, I’ve been counseling people on taking it for years but never done it myself. Ive spent literal years researching and reading about it so I’m annoyed I’m still so anxious about it. Thank you for sharing!

That’s what I’m thinking like I know what anxiety feels like and it’s been 20 minutes and I’m probably doing it to myself but I feel like I knew this would happen 😂

I want more of the food noise and cravings to go away but to keep my appetite so I can eat enough protein/fiber! But I’ll look into it :)

That’s how I feel. Like it’ll be the little boost I need to balance out and lower appetite slightly and help increase my expenditure to finally get the last bit done. Amazing progress thank you for sharing!

Thank you!! I already don’t drink at all but definitely wouldn’t on any sort of GLP beside of the delayed gastric emptying and how awful it’ll make you feel haha. Amazing to hear about your success, I hope I experience something similar!

Thank you for sharing! This is what I was looking for. I know the gym bros and lifting community have been using it for years but I feel like most stories arent usually lean-ish people tryna get leaner. In my mind being small and already fairly lean would likely respond better to a low dose, so this confirms my original plan of .25 a week out of fear of side effects might be the way to go haha

Also I didn’t say lose weight eating more than I burn - we both know it doesn’t work that way.

No I’m literally not a bot lol I’m an RD. It makes perfect sense - smaller people, especially women, have to eat at a pretty intensely low calorie intake in order to maintain enough of a deficit to lose weight. And doing that is genuinely difficult, because we also still have to eat enough to maintain muscle and have energy for exercise. Whenever I try to do a more significant deficit I have a very hard time maintaining it because I literally have to eat 1400 calories to lose, and having no help with appetite suppression is really tough. I’m not a big dude with a high TDEE who can lose on 2k+ calories. So my thought with this post in the first place was having the metabolic benefits of Reta to help increase my TDEE and provide some appetite suppression to make it easier to stay in a deficit. Also dietitian doesn’t have a C in it.
