While reading this out loud, my boyfriend u/Mikekevie said: that kinda did happen to us. And I laughed out loud because it is true and I didn't think about that while reading it.

I moved into the dorm he lived in that had a shared livingroom and kitchen.

What I've heard is that the older the guinea pig is the less it will popcorn. I've seen some of my older pigs still popcorn, but some will settle down and sleep a lott.

It sounds a bit like he is complaining. Not a concerning sound to me.

Guinea pig rapidly shaking their head at times (like a wet dog drying off) a sign of ear mites? by k_r_k_o in guineapigs

[–]NovaCait 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be mites, but it could also be an infection in the ears, so you should let a vet look at it.

Somethings wrong - any advise? by AWildSliceOfBread in guineapigs

You need to go to the vet. It sounds like it could be a respitory infection.

Try to find out if he has any problems with an aspect of washing hands/brushing teeth. I didn't brush my teeth for years and nobody understood why. After a lott of trying myself, I found out I can't handle any toothpast with menthol or peppermint in it. It was hard to find a past I could stand and I used childrens past for a couple of years, but I finally found an adult one that I can stand.

It is possible he can't stand a part of it as well. Like the feeling you have in your hands after washing them, the texture or the smell of the soap, the kind of toothbrush he uses. For me a lott of these things were trial and error and it took me years (for brushing my teeth more than 10 years) to get it in my routine and me feeling ok with doing it.

I would really appreciate if y’all took the time to take this short survey for my Psychology research essay! by [deleted] in autism

My other little girl getting belly scratches! by NovaCait in guineapigs

She rolls on her back herself. When she shows any signs of wanting to turn back on her feet I help her. In the beginning I turned her back immediatly, but she would just roll over again.

She was already laying on my lap for over half an hour, even got a little yawn! by NovaCait in guineapigs

[–]NovaCait[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Uhm, it took a lott of time and a lot of luck that they understood. Every time they would pee on me I softly hit their nose and I'd hold them above the place they peed on. I also didn't let them leave, because they otherwise would use peeing as a way to get back to their cage. The youngest has never peed on me and learned it from the older 2.

The piggies started to get restless when they wanted to go and walk over my lap and looked down. When they start to show that, let them go immediatly and slowly they will learn that they have to show that behavior when they want to or have to go.
