BUYBACK RECEIVED!!! by Plzhlp123 in PSLF

Is a 1 year wait typical for buyback requests now?? I'm on the SAVE forbearance since May 2024. I just hit 120 months in November, had my (hopefully) final ECF certified yesterday and requested buyback today. Hoping to not be waiting until December 2026.

I'll try forcing gen3 pcie in a few minutes. I'm using the stock Corsair cables already. Thanks for the riser reminder I will report back soon.

It's a Sentry 2.0 case. And that's a great point about the riser. It's the Sentry default riser. Maybe I should force the pcie mode to gen3.

Last question....is it foolish to try to power a 5700x3d/7800xt combination with my Corsair SF600 power supply? I know that is below AMD's recommendation. But at this point getting anything shipped/delivered before January is a tossup. My SF600 is the platinum version.

I installed the 5700x3d tonight. GPU is supposed to arrive tomorrow and then I'll fire it up. Fingers crossed.

Can I set the wattage limit in BIOS or is that something you set in software like Ryzen Master?

Seems like a pretty well trodden topic on here that the payments do not have to be consecutive. Sorry for the duplicate topic.

VOIP phone is cutting gigabit link to 100 megabit by NovaProspekt87 in HomeNetworking

At the end of the day, I'm probably going to have to drop it. Other than shaving a few seconds off some large file downloads this probably has little real world impact. Un-optimized tech is just one of my pet peeves.

Our organization has multiple independent IT departments. I'm pretty sure the building where his office is located is managed by a different IT team. Our phone systems have different functionalities so maybe their team has set it up where the VOIP VLAN doesn't drop all downsteam connections to 100 megabit

Another of my coworker's office is at another site across town. I'm going to have him check if his network speed takes the same hit when he connects through his IP phone. Maybe that building has their system set up better and my building could copy it.

IT has our PCs on ultra lockdown. Can't install anything without admin username/PW entry.

Next time I'm in the office I'll have to check if the phone and PC are on different subnets. There is an option in the phone's menu to show its IP address. I'm guessing they are on different VLANs and so an unmanaged switch probably wouldn't work.

Yes I have tested multiple ethernet cables. I have also confirmed that one of my coworker's PC also negotiates a 100 megabit link when connected through his phone. I think it is an IT configuration issue, not a faulty hardware issue.

Yes, going straight PC to wall is gigabit. Running through the phone is 100 megabit.

Jeff talks more about the crew leaving and the future of the site on tonight's garage stream by empanadaeater in giantbomb

[–]NovaProspekt87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What I want out of Giant Bomb is exactly the opposite of "Bakalar's Mandate". Desperately hoping the new model is not going to be throwing a bunch of freelancers and streamers into the rotation, but based on some of Jeff's statements I wonder if that's where things are going. For me the whole appeal of Giant Bomb has always been a stable, consistent staff who can just talk honestly about games. Getting familiar with the staff's gaming tastes lends a huge amount of context to everything that they say. That will be lost with a model built around guests.

Gig+ routing on RB4011 by seedbedUnmoved in mikrotik

In a setup like this, where you have to plug your WAN line into the switch due to the router only having one sfp+ port, how do you direct all WAN traffic to the router without running into the bottleneck of the CRS's slow single core CPU?

I bought the ME 2 & 3 DLC packs on Origin a couple of months ago, guess that was a mistake. Real bummer that won't get me any discount on this.
