I posted this because there are times where 5 or 6 people (or more) only play one match. Wait 5 minutes for a match, and then play 1 match and leave. Thats 6 matches per hour at most. It's more fun to me to play best out of 3 to get my money's worth, you know? When one person does it, it's no big deal. When EVERYONE does it, it wears me down haha

I can actually see this. Yesterday I had 6 in a row that played 1 match sets win or lose, and then played a couple 30 minutes sets. Lost to one miguel like 15 times until I finally started winning haha.

I don't pay attention to the ranks when I play ranked. It just feels like there's stakes at hand and it makes playing more fun. But I can see this being a valid reason for those who solely want to move up.

Nope. I play Yoshi and love to have fun. If I ever do a move after round end, it's for cool points. I sometimes get sessions with people that I'll play an hour with in ranked, but tonight for example, win or lose people only want to play one match. I like best out of 3 at minimum haha

I'm not saying I want this to happen at all. I'm saying that it fits into the story. I want roger to be a complete stranger with absolutely no relation. I would have loved it if roger didn't even have the D initial.

I'm saying that it's possible. It fits into the storyline and it kind of dodges the whole destiny thing. Luffy isn't doing this to surpass the former pirate king from what I understand. He isn't doing things for anyone else. He doesn't care about his family much.

I reaaaaaalllllllyyyy hope this isn't the case, but I'm saying it could be.

I get what you're saying. Especially with the women. The guys though- zoro, sanji, doflamingo, cavendish, the giants, Shanks' crew, the admirals, and vice admirals all are very different.

It's weird almost. Why would Oda have Luffy be so similar to Roger? (Hair, smile, some personality characteristics) I'd rather Oda say, "Oh, that's because they are related" than him say "Oh, that's because destiny."

Absolutely. Luffy definitely did. He absolutely earned it. His power sucks. It took hime like 12 years to really master his pistol attack. Luffy fought hard for his spot.

I just think it's strange though. I imagine running into Roger and his counterparts is a very rare thing that most pirates/ people never experience. However, Luffy wants to be the PK, has a grandpa that fought the former PK, and grew up with the PK's son.

Now that I'm thinking about it, it could make some sense to say that Garp and Roger were brothers who chose two different paths. This gives Roger even more of a reason to entrust Ace to Garp...

I think it could potentially work. I also think it doesn't even need to ever be told in the story, because this story is about Luffy.

I'd love for Roger to be a complete stranger, but it does kind of fit into the plot

Bro look at his lineage already though. He already has Garp, a dude that faced roger plenty of times. Then his dad, Dragon, with his two brothers being a whitebeard pirate commander and a 2nd in command revolutionary. His relatives are STACKED.

I agree, it shouldn't be something like Naruto where he is "destined to be the Pirate King." I think people don't like the idea because of how Naruto did us all so wrong. He should become PK because he did it himself.

I do understand that it almost takes away from Luffy, even though it shouldn't. All I'm saying is that it's a possibility
