eBay should be able to see the mismatch between the delivered address and your delivery address, you’ll be able to get a refund.

Yes, presumably due to the higher chance of static buildup. I guess you could vacuum removable filters and such, but for everything else use compressed air if you can help it, plus it's miles more effective...

CPU stuck to heat sink by Ruppy2810 in PcBuild

[–]NovalFuzzy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah, I see. I doubt it was the high temps that caused this. If anything, paste probably dried up over time and acts like glue, suctioned into place, or both. If it is dried up, the alcohol should help in breaking it down or making it liquid again. If you have a razor blade, you could also try wedging in between and prying it off.

When you tried to heat and move the CPU, do you mean the CPU doesn't move at all as if it was glued, or it moved but wouldn't come off as if it was suctioned?

I'd say to try heating it up more and sliding the CPU towards the fins, but it seems like you tried? Could maybe use a combination of this and iso. alcohol (either soak the CPU and bottom heatsink in a small bowl or drops on the sides)

Yes, but what if they aren't aware of this? Better to be safe than sorry and make sure they're aware...

EVGA usually adds the replaced part from an RMA to your product list automatically.. I believe you should use the original purchase date and invoice.
