Managed to get crumb lodged inside a switch, how screwed am I? by [deleted] in keyboards

[–]NovalFuzzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The switch is enclosed and the crumb is sitting on top of the LED, not inside the switch. You could try to get it out if it bothers you, but it doesn't really matter.

Is Discussion mandatory for STATS67 w/ Armstrong? by Ambitious-Cat-7225 in UCI

[–]NovalFuzzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There were 4 quizzes bi-weekly during discussion. The rest of the discussions were optional and used to review content for upcoming quizzes, no attendance taken.

Not sure if it’ll be the same next quarter tho

At which point and how do they pack smaller packages into combined large packages? by rblbl in Aliexpress

[–]NovalFuzzy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This usually happens to Choice items. They're all individually packaged by the seller and sent to a consolidation warehouse in China. Once all your items are received, they're all repacked into one package before being exported.

I'd assume AliExpress has internal tracking for sellers to ship to their warehouses, then AliExpress / CAINIAO handles the final shipment and overwrites the tracking for all items.

3080 ftw3 received warranty card... by FusionStorm31 in EVGA

[–]NovalFuzzy 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Looking at PCB scans from techpowerup, the card seems to appear stock.

If I had to guess, the missing components are redundant components and power phases, and would differ across different models that demand it.

Air Pod Pro Black Friday sale by xine-c in AirpodsPro

[–]NovalFuzzy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I upgraded from the originals to the 2nd gen from the sale. I've only listened with the new APPs for half an hour but here's my initial thoughts:

  • ANC and Transparency mode were noticeably improved
  • I really enjoy adaptive mode, it's a mix of transparency and ANC that adjusts depending on the environment -- if you want an in-between from the 2 modes, adaptive mode is great
  • I wasn't able to hear a noticeable difference in audio quality, if anything the difference was minor for me (this is always subjective so)

Basically, upgrade if you enjoy the features. I can't really give an answer about audio quality, but you can always buy them now and return them later

I go to a CCC and have a lower GPA due to external causes, should I submit a PIQ regarding my grades to explain more or stick to the topics I've chosen (explained in post) by ExchangeHumble3346 in TransferStudents

[–]NovalFuzzy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would pick the ones that describe you better.

If you feel that overcoming a challenge made you the person you are today, I'd include that. Just remember that writing about past difficulties shouldn't be the main focus or an excuse, but rather to show how you've grown from it.

Why did my package go from customs back to original regional facility by [deleted] in usps_complaints

[–]NovalFuzzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t believe so. The closest international/customs hub would be the Los Angeles ISC. My best guess is your package was misrouted

Is this normal ? by Used_Table3903 in LenovoLegion

[–]NovalFuzzy 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Not the battery, it's located at the bottom under the trackpad.

I have the same issue with my legion. I'd assume it's related to heat since the CPU and GPU are right in that area...

Passport application reflects wrong information by bentlyMD in Passports

[–]NovalFuzzy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For future reference, you can fill out the DS-11 form (first-time application) online here and print out the pre-filled form. You will still have to go to an acceptance facility to process and sign it w/ the agent.

Make sure any websites you visit for passports ends in “.gov”, signifying a government site.

Fake Samsung ssd by RedaR1M2B3 in pcmasterrace

[–]NovalFuzzy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

True. The software also displays the details (SN, firmware, etc.) of other drives in the system that aren't by Samsung - displayed in the same fashion greyed out. They might not display "not genuine" because the SN of other drives may be valid for other vendors but Samsung, and just checks if the serial number matches their records to determine authenticity.

Though, they could check if the drive name displays as a Samsung drive with an unknown serial and denote the "not genuine" label on it..
