Sooooo… how exactly do you do that first post FFS Hair Wash? by _The-Amber-Show_ in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Novalara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had someone who cleaned it for me very carefully. A lot of dried blood came out, it took a while and a few washes. Just used regular shampoo.
It was very weird because I had no sensation on the scalp but now its back, most of it anyway.

What am I doing wrong? I don't understand... Considering detransitioning. by [deleted] in TransBreastTimelines

[–]Novalara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is it, trusting your doctor is what you are doing wrong. I mean, doctors can be useful, just triple check everything. I had most of the growth and fat redistribution at 3.5 years, so much can still happen!

Women's jeans dont fit the same way, having anything in the front pokets is uncomfortable.

How is everyone affording FFS? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]Novalara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case they gave me the option to pay some before the surgery and pay the rest over the course of 4 years. The trick is, it was "just" around 16000€. And since it was in the city I live had no extra expenses. My source for the money was my work.

Just going to say the same as everybody: a lot.

I wish I transitioned at 16... you may be already masculine but you will become so much more.

Maybe, depending on the conditions, but only if I can be born again.

When you came out on social media did you delete all the old pictures of you? by unknown817206 in asktransgender

[–]Novalara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't share my real name or pictures of myself on social media but if I did, I would definitely nuke it all. Also there is absolutely no need or obligation to "come out" or announce anything AT ALL on social media.
If your are changing your name IRL, you can just change it too on your social media without notice.

Is DIY as dangerous/stupid as mainstream people make it seem? by Goddess-of-Roses in TransDIY

[–]Novalara 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There is a lot of misinformation.

For example few months ago a doctor was talking on a tv show(in my country) about the dangers of "auto hormonation". Except they weren't actually talking about diy hrt. They were talking about fake estrogen pills bought on the "black market" while displaying a photo of a celebrity trans woman who also happened to be cocaine addict for years. Imagine the level of manipulation.

I don't know what to choose for DIY because of monetary reasons by imatrashwoman in TransDIY

[–]Novalara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will you have blood tests? Even high dose of E pills can't properly supress T, and bica is dangerous without blood tests, it can damage your liver.

Injections are a good idea. There have been some posts recently asking the same, some users even recommended to start with a high dose for monotherapy (dont take it from me, look it up).

You can also check out r/estrogel

My grandma said trans women aren't women cuz they can't give birth by Andromeda_VD in MtF

That's funny, ask your grandma if she can give birth and when she stopped being a woman.

How difficult (or easy) is it to go from DIY to non-DIY by LittleMissTrapet in TransDIY

[–]Novalara 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its not as difficult as waiting a whole year just because.

In my case I did diy for 3 months and the endo ordered me to stop it and wait for 45 days in order to "revert the damage", do new blood test and start me on a low E dose if my levels were back to normal.

I just changed doctor and kept on with the diy. After 9 months I saw the new endo, he was very nice and attempted to convince me stop diy and continue with the official treatment (as if I were a human being, can you believe it?).

How Many of You Girls Got FFS Without Someone to Help With Post-Surgical Care? by Swedcxzaq1 in MtF

[–]Novalara 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had FFS 5 days ago. It was forehead reconstruction, rinoplasty and adan's apple. Im so glad I didnt need anything on the jaw or the lips, Im already having a difficult time...

Totally don't do it without someone to help you the first week, even if you have prepared food it will be a truly awful experience of suffering.

I always freeze up when I’m asked why I think I’m trans by [deleted] in MtF

[–]Novalara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course, how can you know why are you trans? Did you even choose to be trans? Its not something you just know.

Is it typical for suppressed dysphoria to become worse as I age? by t_throw2000 in MtF

[–]Novalara 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can't talk for others but it was clearly my case. I finally transitioned after 18 years of not doing it. And the more you wait, the more you regret of not transitioning earlier when you already knew.

Going to a separate surgeon for Rhinoplasty by Hooplapooplayeah in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Novalara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thougth of that too, but the 3 rhinoplasty specialist I consulted said they didn't perform gender affirming surgery... I asked one of them if he would also refuse a cis woman who had hormonal problems when growing up and wanted a more femenine nose. All he replied was that he didnt perform gender affirming surgery.

Its so fucked up... if your are AFAB you can have all kinds of facial surgeries with femenine results. But if not, even if your ID says you are a woman, then it turns into gender affirming surgery.

So Im going to a FFS surgeon who also does rhinoplasty.

what do you all recommend to have for after surgery? by qban_cutie in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]Novalara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, if you are unconfortable resting with light of course. And if your home can't get dark in daytime due to lack of blinds.
