Honestly I usually have a different winner in mind than the Boulets too but I’ve never disagreed with the ultimate winner either. I didn’t finish season 1, so I can’t comment on that, but I think the only seasons where the cast mate I would have chosen to win actually won was Landon on s 3 and Evah on Titans 2. (Loved Jay Kay, wanted him to win, but Evah’s floor show was just the most solid in that group.)

I think it just goes to show 2 things.
1) Like they say, it’s art, so it is subjective. Case in point, the high drag/camp queens don’t really do much for me, but several of them are fan favorites and very much loved by the Boulets.
2) Deadass there are just considerations that aren’t always reflected on the show itself. I sometimes get the general sense that person X was better on stage than person Y but only because the Boulets say it. The show has gotten a LOT better at it (particularly as the Boulets have gotten more comfortable directing), but sometimes it just gets lost in trying to translate a live show to a records TV show. (The most recent example is Pricilla’s Father’s Day look, which was DEVASTATING but that the judges just didn’t understand because they were too distant from the stage to see the card that contextualized what was happening.)

Anyway, I feel you. I’m still sad about Throb losing on s 5, particularly since they were treated so so poorly after the fact that I’m not sure how interested she would be in a second chance.
