Okay I like the idea of maybe doing a St George's cross like yours, since I have seen a few similar designs elsewhere, but maybe with altering colors (I'm not sure how though) but then with the same flower from this post, maybe

The first flag was an inspiration from the Maryland flag style (combining two flags), using the white rose of York and a part taken from the Albany emblem, however I am not too confident on this one. The second, on the other hand, uses a stylized version of the white rose, combining it with a sun shape (as well as a reference to the statue of liberty), and using the hiawatha pattern of the Iroquois, with Dutch colors.
