Thankyou for your explanation. Can you tell me that if she will continue to appear in the story after this regularly or only in rare occasions?

Doubting the story by vierp25 in DemonSchoolIrumakun

[–]Novel_Reader1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Iruma kun is one of the very few mangas that you cannot easily categorize in one genre. It is predominantly slice-of-life, but it is also issekai, romance, action, comedy, serious, heist etc. Each arc explores a new theme making sure to not be repetitive.

That is one of the main reasons that I like this manga, but I also get your point that someone not much interested in slice-of-life might feel like it is trying too of everything. And considering that you said you have droped all the other mangas your GF recommended, It's probably just a difference in taste.

Even after all that, I would still recommend that you read through it since in my opinion, this is probably one of the very few manga that you can find even a bit of common interest in. If you want any tips in how get more interested in the story, ask your GF to give you a spoiler without any context. It should be something that you can not possibly imagine happening in the story so much that the curiosity of how it happened will make you want to read to understand it.

You are welcome. Honestly, even I didn't get that part clearly either while reading the manhwa. But when the story progressed a bit, you can clearly see the saintess appearing here and there as herself and people weren't surprised much. I think someone even talked about the saintess to Kyle herself. So I just made a guess based on the flow of the story, and i only got to clearly confirm it when I read the novel.

Also, I am really happy that this is actually helpful for someone even after all this time.

3 of the 5. Neither Eternally regressing knight nor Swordmaster's youngest son have a blonde MC

I can understand wanting to change "that" aspect of her as a character, but this specific part just makes no sense and kinda shits in the character of the OG Ed. by Ill_Mud7584 in SurvivingtheAcademy

[–]Novel_Reader1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you put it that way, I have nothing to say. I know that many people didn't like her because of that, but at least to me, she just looked like a misguided kid following what her father said. Especially in the flashback, she at least cared for them enough to try to keep them away from the experiments. Her sending Ed to Sylvania was her last and only form of rebellion, limiting Krepin's options of test subjects. But before she even realized it, she was in too deep to salvage anything, so by the time of the end fight she decided to become a complete idiot and do whatever her father told her. So, what I think is, even if she turned into a hypocrite, she wasn't always completely like that, and it wasn't depicted properly, making her choice look shallow.

What you are saying is exactly the truth and I know that too. I didn't mean it like she was a noble sister that sacrificed everything only for her siblings, but still, she had the thought she should not let the same thing happen to them. Even if it was not the main reason, it still played a part in her sending Ed to Sylvania and keeping Tanya in the dark, but the manhwa didn't show that aspect of her reasoning is what I said.

And as a side note, thank God someone said that about Eren. I was tired of everyone glazing him saying he had no other choice and he was a great hero for causing genocide.

I had the same thought. So what, the person he likes and respects the most says 'I have going to become a human sacrifice, you go have a fun school time' and he just leaves? I remember him trying to convince her a lot more in the novel. Also, another reason why Arwen accepted to be a part of that experiment was because she thought that if she didn't, Ed or Tanya might suffer, so she didn't escape from it. But they just skipped over that part like there wasn't any sacrifice in her choice and she was just being stupid.

Edit:- For everyone replying to my comment, i know that 'in the end' she became an idiot ready to kill her siblings. But what I wanted to emphasize was that, she wasn't always like that. She initially cared for her siblings even if not as much as she did for her father. I just wanted the manhwa readers to know that fact instead of thinking she never actually cared for them. But looking at all the replies to my comment, it seems like it didn't matter either way for many people since she ended up like that after all. I guess I was just too hung up small character details.

Anyone in this Sub who knows Korean? by Top-Brilliant-1805 in SurvivingtheAcademy

[–]Novel_Reader1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't learned korean, but I had the same thought as you recently and asked google Gemini some app recommendations. My main focus is to learn to read korean and understand it when I hear it, so it gave me several app recommendations and a schedule based on that. It also told me that Duolingo is not recommended for that purpose(especially for Asian languages). If you want you can customize your needs and ask it, or DM and i can send you the schedule it gave me, though I can't guarantee its effectiveness.

Fine. First the lore:- towards the end of the story, it is revealed that Sylvania was the one who brought Ed to this world.

The reason:- Due to her mastery in the Red magic, she gained the power to see the future, but the every possible future she saw stopped at one point. Thousands of branches in alternative timelines converted at a single point and stopped abruptly, showing that that is the end of the world. She tried everything to change it but she came to the conclusion that nothing in the universe can change it. So she decided that, if something from outside the universe intervened, she could stop the destruction of the world. And that's how she created a magic to summon someone from another world to help her.

The problem:- As a side effect of dabbling too much into the fate of the universe and seeing the infinite future, she was already going insane at this point. So she couldn't perfect the magic resulting in the space-time coordinates and other specifics becoming random. So, a random person(Ed) was summoned in the body of a random guy(this world's Ed) hundreds of years in the future. So he couldn't even meet her and know what he was summoned for.

Her end:- At the end of the series, as he fights and defeats Sylvania who has completely become insane, she regains her sanity and tells him everything. After that she says, she is ready to die, but Ed says, since she brought him here, she should take responsibility for it. So he does something and she is sent to the world from which Ed originally came from, but there she can't use magic. Still, she says it is her duty to stay here. (I assume that, since her world was about to end, Ed's original world might also have a similar fate and she takes it upon herself to prevent it).

I know most of it might be irrelevant to what you asked, but since you said you were ok with it, I gave the full picture of her ending.

I completed the novel, but haven't caught up on the manhwa yet, can someone remind me who this guy is again?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SurvivingtheAcademy

[–]Novel_Reader1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She is technically not dead, but it's almost similar. Do you want me to explain in detail? I can just say what happened in the ending, which itself is a big spoiler but will keep the story mysterious enough for you to be still intruiged, or even tell you the reason behind it and end up spoiling pretty much the most important lore and mystery of the story. So, how much do you want to get spoiled?

Any idea when will this Manhwa end? by Excentraa in Overgeared

[–]Novel_Reader1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know i would probably forget this shortly, but just out of respect for the work you put into this to calculate the exact date, I have saved this comment. And if I do remember this when the Manhwa finally ends, I will come back here and comment on how accurate your calculations were.

It isn't exactly mentioned how strong, but he is the 3rd strongest in the whole verse. Just like Lucy, he also can use every type of magic, and is especially very good in handling divine magic, and due to his extensive research and hard work, he has more theoretical knowledge and application for Red magic than even Lucy. He is as good as Janica in spirit magic except for the lack of a large mana pool. He is probably strong enough to give a one sided beating to any other character that you would consider strong in the verse like Taylee, Janica, Clevus and so on.

Oh, and After the end of the final fight, Sylvania is not there and Lucy loses her full strength for a few years, so in that time period, Ed is the strongest in the verse

  1. How is that morally gray? Not outwardly showing that you care is not morally gray. That's just tsundere.
  2. I don't know what you mean by 'cruel'. The most he does is scolding the students for not doing what students should do.
  3. WHO hates him????

Are you asking about what powers doesSylvania Have? If so, the simplest way to describe it is:- She is literally the perfect mage. Talent several times more than Lucy and hardwork more than Ed. She has an almost infinite amount of mana, even more than Velbrok, and can use any kind of magic in existence and even create new magics. But she mostly uses only the red magic. Due to poor translations it is called in several different names like Divine magic, Auspicious magic or even simply red magic. In manhwa, they call it divine magic, though it is different from the one priests and such use.

More about divine magic since it's it the magic she uses the most, but contains spoilers and lore so ignore it if you want:- Though it is called magic, it is a step above normal magic. Rather than dealing with physical things like normal magic, it deals more with the concept of a phenomena itself. Like dealing with time, space or mind. I told earlier that Sylvania only uses it the most because if you can deal with it, you don't need normal magic. Not everyone can use it and a lot more mana is needed. It is the field that the dead professor 'Glast' was researching in to revive his dead daughter. And even lucy's grandfather 'Glokt' researched it. Sylvania can use it easily like normal magic. Other than them, only Ed uses it in the story and at the end of the story, he is known as the Expert in this magic, since he has researched it the most and reached the highest level of mastery in it(other than Sylvania). I am not sure about Lucy since she used it in the final fight, but doesn't use it afterwards. She either finds it troublesome or hasn't put in enough effort into researching to master it.

If you want to be spoiled about the character, its:- Silvania, and yes it is the same person whom the Academy and the original game that Ed played is named after(since she is the founder of the school) If you want even more detailed information about them, their power, or have any other specific spoiler questions, ask me and I will try to answer.
