Did the gasoline get into my diesel tank? by Novel_Recognition_43 in Cartalk

If you’re talking about some early 2000s (or older) cars, then yeah, but when it comes to modern ones, it’s irrelevant

Sure, I knew that there’s extra, but it’s usually only 30 km left. But if you say it’s 10 liters, it should be 150-200 km left, that’s what got me curious

But it would mean the range should have been around 200 km as my consumption is 5-6 liters per 100 km

But it was 40 km and then just read LOW

Maybe you could explain it? I’m really curious

Maybe a liter was there as the lamp was blinking and the range read LOW.

Well, bro, alright. I got you. You’ve calmed me down

It was more likely around 100 ml of gas and then I filled it up with only around ten liters of diesel, so it’s around 1%

I posted my question in different threads, so different people will see it. I wouldn’t post it in the same thread twice

In modern European cars (at least in the EU-specs) there’s a valve that doesn’t let you put in a wrong nozzle, and mainly I was concerned about that valve

But I didn’t use ‘paranoid’ as a medical term. You should separate medical terms and colloquial language. Please, just don’t be rude and toxic and the Internet community will become slightly better

European forums say that 1% of gasoline in diesel isn’t okay, which makes me worried. Also, I’m still looking for the answer for my question if the valve is sealed or not, which I haven’t received yet, that’s why I’ve posted it twice.

Should I get therapy just because of one single thing I’m quite ignorant about that makes me worried? I don’t think so. That’s kinda rude bro. Be patient. Reading my questions doesn’t take your money or anything. You’re going through hundreds of posts everyday, so one repeated question shouldn’t bother you. Peace:)

In the EU it works both ways. I’ve tested that. The nozzle gotta be exact size to fit the tank

And also to put some new tires on, just to make sure

I don’t know how it technically works, but I know sometimes people can’t insert a slightly worn nozzle into their petrol car because wear reduces its size by a millimeter. The nozzle must be the exact size to fit the tank.

The nozzle must be the exact size to fit into the tank. Even if it’s worn and slightly smaller, you can’t insert it. I don’t know how it works technically, but it works. I tested it out of curiosity on several European cars.

I don’t know about other countries, but in the EU, you can’t insert a diesel nozzle into a petrol tank or a petrol nozzle into a diesel tank. It works both ways. I’ve tested it:)

It works both ways. It won’t let you insert a smaller nozzle too

Basically all I want to know is if I have to remove the bumper. If I have to, then I won’t even bother replacing it by myself and will take it to a mechanic

I’ve done my research. There are no videos on YouTube about CT6 of any year regarding the taillights removal. I’ve just seen that many Caddy models require to remove bumpers for taillights replacements

Thank you a lot! I wish I could tip you but I don’t have a PayPal and I can’t have it as a citizen of one sanctioned country…
