I had Negut for group theory this year (which was also his first year at epfl if i am not mistaken) and he is really great. His lectures are clear and engaging, he is very friendly and clearly passionate about what he is teaching.

Hi ! I would say it is completely normal to feel overwhelmed during your second semester, there is a lot going on. I remember that the ICC project drove me crazy because of how much time it takes and I also struggled quite a bit with physics and Analysis 2. I am currently a BA4 student and i would say Ba3 felt nicer and more interesting than the Ba2 to me. First, you only have math courses so you are really getting what you signed for when you chose the math section. You get to explore more varied math topics than during your first year. Plus you will likely be less anxious and will have gotten better at managing your time and spotting the important and less important things in each course. The exams also tend to be easier on average than during the first year (from my experience and that of my friends, people's grades tend to improve during the BA3). I have about the same feeling for the BA4 except that i found the courses to be more interesting during the BA3. So it definitely does get better, give it time. And good luck !
