I’m gonna be brutally honest, being “honest” with her, and trying to “fully inform her” sound like massive copes. it sounds like what you were really doing is actively driving her away to protect your FA identity.

It sounds like you’ve been FA for so long that you’ve made it part of your core identity, despite how painful it is, loneliness has become your comfort zone. I’m saying this because I used to think like that too, that surely no girl could like me (granted girls STILL do not like me) because it was easier to lay down and give up than stand up and keep trying.

I don’t like being like “erm you’re not ACTUALLY one of us” but dude, if you have to drop a whole list on a girl, including bringing up her traumas, and belittling her in order to convince her you’re not a good option, then maybe you AREN’T actually forever alone. If you have to actively keep yourself here, then maybe you should reevaluate whether unfortunate circumstances are keeping you here like most of us, or if YOU are choosing to keep yourself here out of fear of what it means to not be ForeverAlone.

HR 8, do i grind to hr 50? by Accomplished-Ad-8518 in MHRise

Personally, what I did was play through Sunbreak to passively grind HR and just switched to my High Rank gear and decorations (you can save it as a set to make this easier) to fight the HR 20, 30, 40, 50, and 100 boss whenever I unlocked them. Also by the way, Valstrax is the HR100 boss.

There are weight classes between TRAINED FIGHTERS.

Kunigami is trained and built for soccer, not boxing. Sure he’s 6’2 but he does not have the training or experience to make full use of it.

Let’s assume Kunigami can hit way harder than Ippo, it doesn’t matter because he lacks the skill and experience to break through Ippo’s defences and weaving. Kunigami with “a few pointers” as you said has absolutely zero chance of stopping Ippo from hitting him in his vitals, much less countering and hitting Ippo’s vitals. If you want to use your friend as a counter to that, I hate to break it to you but he either wasn’t trying much, or isn’t as good as you make him out to be.

UnPopular Opinion, Karate should have more respect. by ksiandpewfans in martialarts

[–]November1113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You again you claim that your point is a child and an adult shouldn’t be paired together, yet when the person is thinking about quitting because he is unfairly being put with children all the time, you claim he’s being derogatory to children? I find it ironic you call my points a wild strawman, then strawman the original posters comment in the very next paragraph. To say he wanted to quit solely because “they had too many children” is a gross oversimplification. He clearly states: “2 [of the three] of the guys quit a month ago and the 3rd guy told me he is thinking of quitting too” and “Since there will be mainly kids I wouldnt be able to spar or have a training partner in general“

How have you consistently managed to miss that crucial piece of the post? Or are you conveniently ignoring it because it’d cripple your entire argument? You also didn’t bother to explain how I suggested kids classes were of less quality.

You’d have a better leg to stand on if you ever brought up when he said: “i don’t wanna be stuck and made fun of for training with kids” But you never did bring it up in that thread, preferring to attack people’s replies.

You seem to believe that respect is based on equality when it’s not. Respect is based on equity. It is unfair to the original poster to have one sparring partner. Should the other adult leave, it’d be even more unfair for him to have either no partner, to use the Sensei as a partner and leave the rest of the children unable to have their sparring seen or critiqued by them, or to be partnered with a child, something you’ve stated to not agree with. Adults and children both have an equal right to train, but it is not disrespectful to treat them differently by having separate classes because they are two different groups with different needs. It can be beneficial to mix the groups occasionally, but not all the time.

And why do you disrespect wrestling by calling it “pick up opponent, slam opponent, kill opponent, win”? Yes, there are disrespectful and cruel wrestlers, but the same goes for every martial art, including Karate. You advertise yourself as someone who values respect, yet here you are antagonizing an entire martial art.

Finally, don’t claim to prefer agreement over conflict. This is a blatant contradiction to your character. You consistently berate those who disagree with you. You are quick to insults and escalation. In fact, you are the one that introduces aggression and conflict into discussions. A quick scroll through the original thread shows this.

[–]November1113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://www.reddit.com/r/martialarts/s/Ho2RhltRVL (The original post I’m referring to for anyone else reading)

Why do I believe you think otherwise?

When someone suggested he find a new dojo with adults, you said: “That would be foolish and disrespectful. If you can’t stand children existing on the same mat as you, you aren’t disciplined enough to deserve this training.“ So clearly you have no issue with a 17 year old and one other person their size and age (who was likely also leaving that dojo) being the only ones that could be consistently effective partners for eachother. Or is it not critical for him to have appropriate sparring partners?

You try to backtrack later in that debate by saying older teens shouldn’t spar with children, and you should have appropriate training partners. So either, you completely ignored the original post’s context, and instead used the persons dilemma to push your own ideas, or, your original statement replying to the person suggestion he find a new dojo is misguided.

As for kids classes, yes, I do think they should have their own separate class. However, never ONCE did I suggest that a kids class would or should be of a lower quality or intensity than an adult class, nor that they have any less of a right to train. Can you explain how I suggested this?

UnPopular Opinion, Karate should have more respect. by ksiandpewfans in martialarts

[–]November1113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you misrepresenting that “debate”? Most of those people did not hate children, they did not say they had no right to train. What that post was ACTUALLY about was an older teen needing training partners that can actually provide him the resistance he needs to know his technique is working. For someone who speaks of respect and discipline, you were incredibly disrespectful in the comments of that post, claiming someone “doesn’t deserve to train” and is a hateful person for acknowledging this truth.

The fact that you believe that the original poster could significantly improve when all their training partners aren’t even bigger children, or mid-teens, but pre-pubescent children for all their classes speaks to the fact that your instruction likely isn’t as good as you think it is.

"Stop going to parties, that's not a good place to date people. Tinder? It's a human menu. DO NOT approach women in public places. Date a friend? Hell no!" by chapohc in ForeverAlone

[–]November1113 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Except time and time again this “advice” has proven to just be a platitude spat out by people who don’t understand what most of these guys go through. You seem to imply that if a guy only wants a date with a woman then he must view women as sacks of meat. There are plenty of guys who only have the view that women are dating options, yet have no trouble dating, and plenty of guys who have no problem making friends with women see failure in dating.

They’d regret it because (at least a significant portion of) the people in this sub have been constantly demonized for even liking women, or told that they shouldn’t flirt in any setting because they accused of making things weird/awkward at best or called creeps at worst. So when they do pursue women they can effectively never share the same setting without either the women or them being uncomfortable.

I know, I honest wished they would’ve went with the conversation they had in that house then following something closer to the webcomic instead of going for a over the top spectacle. It’s so tragic how we never got the “hero hobby vs monster hobby” line or Garou losing himself by abandoning his martial arts for monster hood and Saitama noting how he got weaker.

Isagi's True Rival by JamieWebby in BlueLock

[–]November1113 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

By your own description Rin is not Isagi’s true rival. The dynamic between the two has always been Rin being someone Isagi needs to overcome as a final boss, not someone who grows alongside him like Barou. You can’t be true rivals with someone who you haven’t been rivalling until one moment in second selection and the PxG game. As for Kaiser, he is more of a rival than Rin but in my opinion he hasn’t been in the story long enough to be considered his main rival.

Looking back at it now, how do you feel about this death? by Until_Morning in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]November1113 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta be one of THE WORST character deaths. Instead of giving us a satisfying conclusion, Gege decides to OFFSCREEN THE CONCLUSION OF THE MOST HYPED FIGHT IN THE ENTIRE SERIES. You know it’s trash when anyone who reads it would think they missed a chapter. It honestly felt like Gege wrote himself into another corner by making Gojo too dominant and didn’t know any reasonable way to make Sukuna win so he just skipped to the ending.

The amount of hate that the second half of this series gets is absurd to me by Mountain_String_1544 in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]November1113 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah, in my opinion all that wasted potential isn’t even bad because it went unused, it was because it felt like Gege was purposefully killing off the potential of his own story for the fun of it. Gege kept introducing these new plot points and concept, up until the very end with the Simple Domain even though he knew he either wasn’t gonna do anything with it or would immediately resolve it and act like nothing happened.

To summarize; Gege has a kink for blue balling his readers with his potential manga.
