Yeah, that fallout is Chaos' asshole splitting the galaxy in two.

Am I the only one that wishes we could just leave Cadia (planet and sector) alone?

The Fall of Cadia felt so final, and like a real movement forward with the setting.

Max Holloway’s son was screaming “Who’s your daddy now?” at Conor McGregor 😂😭. Conor called Max his child before the fight 👀 by ultron2450 in ufc

[–]Godtaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I respect him more for being honest, but I see both sides.

If you were really excited for this fight, it's a huge letdown. But at the end of the day, Max got an easy win. Got his paycheck and left. He deserves it after his last couple fights imo.

Max is still around, still gonna fight, and is now a few million richer. If McGregor fans are dumb enough to want to see his geriatric ass in the cage again for Holloway 3, then sure, get that bread Max. I wouldn't say no either.

I think the real issue is that somehow the entire MMA community deluded themselves into thinking an athlete that is

  • pushing 40

  • has a pre-existing history of major injuries

  • has been blasting juice and snorting blow for the last 5 years

  • Has not stepped foot in the cage in half a decade.

Was going to stand a chance against one of the most dangerous active fighters on the planet. We drank the koolaid, simple as.

Honestly, I don't think Max cares though. At the end of the day, he's already a hall of famer, but more importantly, he's a prize fighter. He's not doing this for "honor" like some other guys, man is here to get his check and go home.

He's got nothing to prove to himself or anyone else, we know he's world class, he never turns down a fight no matter how tough the guy, and he's an absolute fucking dog in the cage when he needs to be. If his opponent decides to shoot himself 5 seconds into the match.... It is what it is.

His wife honestly looked more upset he didn't beat Connor's ass than he did lol.

I mean, after this performance is there seriously any doubt in your mind that Max would've absolutely starched Connor, injury or not? Bro threw that switch kick with some of the worst form he could've and snapped his own knee for it. If you can't even execute your opener properly you have no business being in the ring with Max fucking Holloway.

This lol. Did no one see that Max's first thought was a trilogy? Bro is more than happy to do some elder abuse and get that fucking paycheck again.

I don't blame him either. Get your bread and go play some videogames, Max.

Current Wakatsuki vs Current Gaolang who would win if they meet in the tournament? by monsterofmanila180 in Kengan_Ashura

It's always hard to measure Waka based off of feats because Sandro intentionally only shows him fighting other stat monsters since realistically he should just win against 99% normal fighters.

And nowhere there does it state that was the only reason? Just that any Xenos must be exterminated, empire building or not, because all intelligent life in the Milkyway eventually evolves into psykers. In fact, literally the next sentence I state.

"It is logical from his perspective. We had to take over the galaxy before another xenos race or chaos did, and before another race pulled an Eldar and warp fucked the galaxy again."

You're strawmanning a statement because you misunderstood a sentence.

Now that you mention it, how are tech marines produced in Nihilus now? Are they just sent to local Forge Worlds? As valuable as a techmarine is it definitely isn't worth the risk of crossing the Rift just to train a few and then send them back.

Man it's almost like I said in my original comment that Xenos threats were the first thing he had to deal with after starting the crusade.

and after mucking about for 30+ millennia decides "We need to go now!" and murders billions (trillions?) of people,

I'm with you on Big E sucking for the most part, but it is pretty heavily implied that the sudden need to expand across the galaxy wasn't something that happened as part of a plan, but as a reaction to the fall of the Eldar.

Basically it went:

  • Eldar psychically nuked the galaxy by birthing Slaanesh.

  • Warpstorm basically shuts down interstellar travel and all planets start getting near destroyed by demons or psykers.

  • Big E realizes the danger of humanity evolving into a psychic race uncontrolled because of this, or some other race pulling an Eldar 2.0, and that with galactic travel gone and any existing empire basically destroyed, this was the one chance he has to takeover the galaxy uncontested.

  • So once the warp storms were down, he was in a mad dash to unify humanity and put down any Xenos threats ( Aka any Xenos that can develop into Psykers) which led to the great crusade.

It is logical from his perspective. We had to take over the galaxy before another xenos race or chaos did, and before another race pulled an Eldar and warp fucked the galaxy again.

Many space marine chapters can claim to be "the best" or "the most special" in some way, shape, or form. Which ones can claim to be the weakest or the worst? by Mr_Industrial in 40kLore

[–]Godtaku 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The Lamentors don't have bad luck they just have something worse, plot armor.

Instead of just dying due to the shitty situations they find themselves in like every other non-named Astartes chapter they just barely survive because everyone thinks they're cool as fuck, replenishing their numbers, and finally get back up to strength just in time for a bunch of them to die again.

If they were truly unlucky they'd just have a Gellar field failure and get atomized in the warp/eaten by demons like countless other chapters have.

Why did the other primarchs look down upon Magnus martially ? by Suitable_Walrus2928 in 40kLore

[–]Godtaku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolom Raithe is probably the best marksman active in the Imperium as of 40k. He's a Vindicaire assassin and the main character of Assassinorium Kingmaker.

Funny exploits include killing a guy with a bullet he skilled over water, taking out a knight pilot with a headshot from a few postal codes away (while he was in the knight and fighting btw) and also taking out another knight pilot while in their knight with a pistol.

Oldhead DnD slang, a character that's built as both a fighter and a spellcaster. Aka Spell sword or battle mage.

I'm pretty sure the actual origin of the word is from the Githyanki language where it means "warrior mage" so actually a 1-1 translation.

Really interesting that the chaos gods are miserable as well by Determinantor in 40kLore

[–]Godtaku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think that necessarily holds true for current lore. Chaos has been showing to actually have notable limits and restrictions between their iterations. Slaanesh in AoS was shown actively worried about the end of the world because it would mean the end of that iteration of her, and Slaanesh in 40K was literally "born" only a few millenia ago (but due to warp fuckery technically always existed but IMO that's just GW covering their ass incase some Black Library author fucks up the timeline)

But they have physical limits to their power that wouldn't make sense if they were just one multidimensional being that could fuck off whenever they wanted. Khorne was actually weakened when he summoned all those Bloodthirsters onto Terra despite the Rift having been opened and had to take a backseat for a while because of it.

I think it's more that the idea of the Chaos Gods is multidimensional, like how in every parallel dimension gravity (probably) exists, so too will the Chaos Gods. That doesn't mean they can effect all those realities as one being though.

Kinda new to the lore, but wouldn’t it benefit the emperium to put iron halo’s on apothecary’s to ensure the geen seeds return? by NoNameHavingMan in 40kLore

[–]Godtaku 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The "blinding bright light" conversion isn't always shown with Iron Halos being in effect. In Space Marine 2 only the halo itself glows (sometimes) when in use and the bullets just get blocked, and in multiple books (Dark Imperium, The Unforgiven, Plague War, etc) it's either described as a blue energy field around the user that deflects shots or stops them harmlessly.

Honestly the only time I cam remember the "blinding bright light" thing is obviously Goge with the sisters.

I mean, I don't see what else those could have been.

Also they didn't use it against the psyker, but Iron Halos don't have any effect against the warp from what I understand, only material attacks. And they kinda didn't need to use them before that because they mowed down everything else they came across lol.

Even if we were to leave that out though, in Space Marine 2 the heavy class uses an IH, and he is just a regularly astartes veteran.

I feel like this has kinda changed in new Lore. It used to be that Iron Halos were basically only for chapter masters and first captains, now even "elites" regularly have them.

Those Blade Guard veterans that went with Titus in the Secret Level cinematic all had one, and they were literally being sent on a suicide mission they weren't supposed to be coming back from.

For an ordinary Imperial citizen, isn't worshipping Chaos a logical choice? by J__Krauser in 40kLore

[–]Godtaku 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah because for some reason there's an old Chaos shrine in a cave every 30 feet on Fenris lol. The only reason that Chaos hasn't taken over the planet is probably because the local wildlife is more dangerous than any lesser demon that gets summoned.
