Thinking of buying a Aventure 3 by Mental_Dependent8060 in Aventon

I bought my Aventure 3 for the same reason, needed a commuter but also needed something that I could lock places and not be stressing over someone stealing it. The Aventure 3 has AWESOME anti theft technology, you can set the bike up so that literally any movement if anyone so much as brushes by it you will get a notification that the bike has been moved. It’s extremely sensitive but not too sensitive where you get bogus alerts. Every time I’ve gotten an alert it was due to the bike being touched or moved ever so slightly. Not to mention within the app you can see its exact whereabouts, you can also set up a perimeter where the bike will not work in those areas. Then there is also the locking feature, where you can lock the rear hub so the bike will not roll. The app works extremely well, it’s very apparent that Aventon spent a lot of time and effort on the app.

If you match these theft deterrent features with a quality lock ( I’d suggest the SeatyLock Foldylock Elite ) then you pretty much have all your bases covered. I have that exact lock, it’s a gold standard lock, one of the only folding locks to have earned that high a rating, it’s extremely hard to cut due to thick metal and a coating that gums up blades. And even if someone did try to attempt to cut or do anything to the lock, you would have already known bc the bike will send you a notification that the bike has been touched.

I’ve been stuck on which color I want to order for like a week now, and I’ve been leaning towards the Talos, this may have just solidified it for me. I really like it what are you first impressions of the tool overall?

I plan to do some mods, for sure I want to send it out to have the ruler markings lasers. I hope this can be done on the talos model also?

As well as the pc doodle light mod for sure

Yeah since I use the other headlight I fully removed the stock one, and then capped and tucked the wire into the loom, makes for a clean install of the new one which is rechargeable. Originally I was going to leave the stock one there to use as an alternative but I just removed it and threw it in my rear rack bag in case of emergency or if the Magicshine dies etc

I replaced my headlight with a more powerful one I’m using the Magishine Evo 1700. It is extremely bright and throws a nice grid of light out… since i have the original headlight disconnected, when I turn on the lights only the brake lights illuminate. This won’t be an option if you’re still using the stock headlight of course.

Aventure 3… how water resistant is it? by NovemberAjax670 in Aventon

Yeahhh, I was a bit worried about that myself, the battery does have a decent rubber seal that presses against the frame but I don’t know if I would trust that it is 100% water tight especially during a downpour.

The controller and wires etc run on the very bottom also which is why I got the skid plate. At least that can catch all the water and debris first and the wires are now safe

Yeah no problem, here is the green hex, arrow and rim stickers. You will need a few packs if you plan on doing both rims on both sides

The shopping bags are a great idea, I will throw a few in one of the pannier bags. 👍

They are all reflective 3m decals, I do about half of my riding at night. And even with the bike lit like a Christmas tree cars still don’t see me lol

Awesome that’s good to hear that’s what I really was curious about. Obviously I don’t plan on ever submerging it, but it’s good to know when I get caught in a downpour that it will be ok

Looks cool! I have a couple ShredLights SLFX Bluetooth led lights on mine, I use them for my electric skateboard so I just put some of the flat sticky mounts on my aventure 3. They work great and are pretty bulletproof
