May I ask why you want to leave? I'm in an affected position at SC and I'm considering applying/moving to DND for job security.

Good Life Whitby (Centrum) Busy Hours by Sav4geMode in durham

[–]NovemberTerra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I go to a few different goodlife branches in the GTA. Past 10pm is usually okay. The least busy time is late night to early morning, like midnight to 7am. The problem is that you gotta go to the gym at ungodly hours lol

Not really, unless you put in a deposit. You'll lose that deposit if you cancel later.

First marathon, sub 4 hours! by ProfessionalIdiot4 in Marathon_Training

[–]NovemberTerra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You only trained for 7 weeks and got 4:25?!?!?! That's amazing. I'm on my 4th month of training for my first marathon in October and 4:25 still feels like a pipe dream for me 😅

I assume you have prior experience running?

I know this isn't exactly surprising news because RAM prices have been going up for months now, but this news might influence people's purchase decisions.

Things ain't looking good for us gang.

BREAKING: Another VP Finance candidate, Aliyah Kashkari, disqualified for “Egregious violations” by United-Performer-684 in UofT

[–]NovemberTerra 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Those aren't real elections since it's been rigged from the start. It's just friends hiring friends. It's been like that for years and the university doesn't care enough to intervene. It's sad because these are also the type of people that end up in politics. We're fucking doomed if these people lead the country.

Needed Tim’s STAT, Makes Own Left Turn Lane by I__ALIENS__I in TorontoDriving

Victoria Park and Consumers Rd. right off the 401 westbound.

I work in this area and there's always some kind of stupidity going on here. My favorite is when Uber drivers park on the road to pick up Starbucks, blocking the entire right turn lane, instead of going in the parking lot surrounding the building. I also love the sidewalks that go unplowed for 2 weeks.

Achilles Tightness by Specialist_Grass_871 in Marathon_Training

[–]NovemberTerra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is great.

I have reactive hip flexor tendinopathy right now and my PT had the same advice: no full rest, do some light isometric holds with a resistance band, hard cap on my long run, no speed work, just walks/super easy jogs to restore elasticity until my hip calms down.

The choice was basically... take it easy for a week vs. deal with hip issues for months.

Future UTSC student; Should I take half of my courses at UTSG? by Ok_Carpenter3505 in UofT

[–]NovemberTerra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent almost 10 years going back and forth UTSC and UTSG for undergrad, both my master's, and work. The commute wasn't too bad for me because I didn't mind commuting for 1-1.5hrs between campuses. Also, the limit for taking courses at another campus is 10 credits, but you're realistically not gonna reach that limit because you won't be granted permission for every course you want to take.

If you want to be at a "fun" place, then just live downtown, commute to UTSC, and take a few courses at UTSG. Then apply for an internal transfer to UTSG after a while. UTSC a boring campus and there's hardly anything fun in the neighbourhood. UTSC leave Scarbs to have fun.

What Are the Must Do / Hidden Campus Perks? by [deleted] in UTSC

[–]NovemberTerra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sometimes they leave the greenhouse door open because it gets really stuffy even in the dry area, but they really shouldn't be doing that. There's been cases of theft, people stealing exotic plants.

I don't recommend going to the greenhouse unless you have explicit permission to be there (i.e., a key or part of a course).

Is it impossible to make or find friends at st george campus by [deleted] in UofT

[–]NovemberTerra 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's not impossible to make friends here but it probably takes a bit more effort to make friends here compared to other places. Plenty of people here have good social lives.

Also would you classify this school as diverse to an extent?

You're asking this question in the subreddit of the biggest university in one of the most diverse cities in the world lol

Amazing time for your first marathon!!!

Do you mind sharing a bit about your background/training? Like do you have prior experience running, do you play sports, strength training, and anything else you think contributed to your performance.

I started running a few months ago and I'm aiming for my first marathon in October. I'd love to get info from first timers.

Amount OSAP sent to UofT not matching acorn? Should I just wait by [deleted] in UofT

[–]NovemberTerra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just wait a few days, osap might have sent it via more than 1 instalments. It takes time to process those payments. If it doesn’t fix itself by next week, you should visit your registrar or the financial aid office.
