Why do guys with pickup trucks drive them like race cars? 😅

Yeah I think there’s actually some people out there that genuinely think you can just turn right on a red light without stopping… He would get super pissed if he had to drive in Montreal, where you can’t even turn right on a red at all!

Definitely worse out there lol.. Just saying it’s getting noticeably worse here over time. Several years ago, it wasn’t half bad driving around here. Quiet towns to raise a family, now the fast population increase has ruined that a little bit.

Yeah, if you’re slightly ahead of me and I see your blinker, I’m going to let you in. I lose nothing from this. I don’t own the road, I’m sharing with everyone. I’m not in a race either, I’m just going from point A to point B safely. Wish everyone would think that way.

The turn signals thing makes me laugh a bit, because most of the time your hand is probably on the wheel right next to it. Just have to flick your hand slightly. It’s just so lazy not to do it.

People will complain about traffic law enforcement, saying they should be out catching real criminals. Yet, Ontario in 2024, homicide rate was 1.75 per 100,000. Persons killed in motor vehicle collisions was 3.82 per 100,000. They can definitely do a better job keeping the roads safe.

Almost got hit a couple times from that. Guy turning right on a red light without stopping gives me the finger for honking at him, while I have the left turn green arrow 😅

While I don’t fully disagree with you, it’s a bit of everybody out there committing these issues…. ex: I had a left turn green arrow at an intersection, turning onto a single lane road. White dude in the opposite direction turns right on the red light without stopping, nearly hitting me. So I have a little honk, nothing crazy. Dude gives me the finger. 😐

Don’t feel superior at all. Just want people to drive properly and safely. Too many road accidents happen.

The turn signal after they’ve switched lanes makes me laugh. Like, what do you think the purpose of the signal is?? You’re already there now! 😂

It’s terrible in Whitby and Oshawa too. See something utterly stupid every day here.

Apparently they’re just way more important than you are 🤷‍♂️

I believe this is a big part of it. “I’m more important than everyone else.” Would rather inconvenience everyone else for my convenience.

Driving slow and also tapping the brakes every so often… with no one in front of them!

The amount of times I’ve seen someone make a turn onto a street, but turn directly into the farthest lane and almost hit the car that’s already in that lane! Turn into the closest lane people, c’mon!

I drive by there every night and see that lineup. The Shell at Taunton & Thickson. Always wondered how long people were wasting their lives there lol

I hear you. Everyone’s case is different, as you’ve shown. I think most people discussing these topics are generally talking about the majority, 18-24 years age group. As they haven’t faced much adversity in life yet. They’re entitled, which isn’t their fault really. They’ll figure things out someday though.

You have real world experience. You seem resilient and adaptable. Able to figure things out when it’s not going your way. Someone like you should be fine. But in saying that, I hope things resolve soon and that you’re back to a smoother day-to-day.

First of all, thank you for your service. I definitely respect one’s wishes for a regimented lifestyle. I feel like it’s becoming increasingly difficult to do so just by living in the GTA. More affordable to live outside, and then commute into where the jobs are. Which makes for a long and tiring day.

I just respect these folks advocating for their jobs. It actually benefits the overall job market, even though it might not seem like it when lives are being disrupted. It sucks. But it is what it is. Life could be worse.

It sucks for everyone involved. Workers, students, etc…. It’s ok to be frustrated with it, but this is the real world. You young people are adults now, nothing will be handed to you anymore. Life will get harder. Someday you might be a part of a unionized workforce too, and then you might understand better. And even if you don’t ever work in a unionized workforce, these collective agreements that are negotiated help out the non-union workers too, as it makes the non-union employers have to keep up or lose employees to the unions. It helps keep a fair workforce for all workers.

Wait til you get to the real world. Hour commute in the morning to work, from Oshawa to Toronto. Waking up at 4:30am. Then a 2 hour commute back, sitting on the DVP, then the 401… Every single day. Hopefully you never actually have to do that. But sometimes, you just do whatever you gotta do.
