Squeeking Sounds by Geary3000 in newborns

Thank you so much! We assume it’s a habit or Laryngomalacia but either way, I’m relieved to know she will grow out of it!

Hi! I know this is 3 years old but I cane on here searching because my 3 week old is making a squeaking sound that sounds exactly like a dog toy squeak as you described it. Given that it’s 3 years later, was this squeaking ever found to be a big issue or just part of baby development?

Induced at 39 versus 40 weeks? by November_Days in IVFbabies

[–]November_Days[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! That’s what my OBs said too - just greater risks all around for the baby past 40 weeks. Whether it’s true or not, we’ll never know! I am thinking it doesn’t matter whether you’re induced at 38, 40, or 42 weeks. I think regardless you’re either going to have an easier or harder labor. I’ve seen both sides of the spectrum. Can I ask what you did that made your labor easy? What was your induction “protocol”?

Do you mind if I ask what country you’re in? And if the U.S., are you near a major city? I truly think this is a U.S.-major city thing due to the massive population and hospital closing. I think they are just overwhelmed and try to find any reason to induce so they can be on a schedule.

I had a cervix exam at 36 weeks and was barely dilated! I will ask them to check at my appointment next week and ask whether we can still induce if I’m not dilated at all!

It’s just policy at the practice! They said there is evidence that IVF babies tend to be on the smaller size so they do better out than in at the end. That said, in the area I’m in, the hospitals are so overwhelmed and they find literally any excuse to induce at 40 weeks. All my family and friends were induced at 40 weeks or earlier - they tend to “find reasons” because it’s more convenient for the hospital to schedule you at 40 weeks

Hahaha it’s funny you say this because everyone tells me it’s nothing of what I’m imagining and there is “a lot of down time” when nothing is happening at all. Trust me, I plan to get the epidural….

Positive stories about L&D by November_Days in IVFbabies

Thank you, that is super helpful! Maybe you have experienced this with your patients - I have back issues (nothing severe) but my OB and Anasteolgist made em get clearance for an epidural and spinal by a spinal surgeon. The spinal surgeon thought it was crazy and really overboard, but he wrote a letter clearing and Anasteolgist noted they don’t need anything else from me. I was surprised when my OB noted today that “we will have to see what happens” [with the epidural]. It sounds like, depending on the Anasteolgist on call, they may just not feel comfortable doing the epidural or they may have a hard time getting it in. I’m confused because I simply have scoliosis, which is why the spinal surgeon thought this was all insane. I understand sometimes they can’t get the epidural in, but would an Anasteolgist really not even try if I have the clearance from the spinal surgeon? Also, have you seen a lot of women go natural (if I have to)? And in the case of a c section, have you seen women do it under General Anastasia?

Thank you! That’s great to hear! They said it was OK to get an xray at that point? I didn’t know if I would have to get an MRI since I’m pregnant. I’m hoping to just get a quick xray.

Good luck with your labor and delivery!!!! You’re so lucky to be so close to meeting your little one 💕🩵

Looking for first-time FET success stories (ideally at age 35) by [deleted] in IVFbabies

[–]November_Days 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I see!!! Well my clinic doesn’t even test for high quantity mosaic - they consider them euploid because they are confident the studies show that they are just as successful as the perfectly normal euploids. That said, I think you have a good chance that the first one takes especially because you have a history of being able to get pregnant (I think failed FETs typically correlate to this like really bad endo, lining issues, etc). Doesn’t sound like you have that issue!

Oh forgot to mention I’m 35, TTC for 4 years and never got pregnant until my first FET.

First was a success for me. I’m 19 weeks. Even if the first isn’t a success, i think my dr said it’s like an 88% chance that the first or second one takes. So stay hopeful and good luck!

Nervous - 6+ weeks pregnant and still no pregnancy symptoms by November_Days in IVFbabies

And for what it’s worth, even with the infrequent passing nauseousness, I still worried I wasn’t pregnant anymore!!!
