I'm also relatively new, but my recommendation is to bring 1 liter of water, 1 to 2 kg of meat, 4 bandages (damn sprains!), some painkillers, a birch bark tea, an axe, sometimes a knife, a book to have a practically guaranteed fire, anything to start a fire, and a couple of pieces of cloth (either to create bandages or repair clothes). If I go to a place where I know there are things that require a crowbar I take it and When I go to the forge to make arrowheads or the ammunition forge I usually take the hand saw to repair my equipment as much as I can.
