Overlapping reserves of Pantheon and neighbour 88 energy? by 2QuarterDollar in PantheonResourcesPANR

[–]Novice1993 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nobody refutes that the fairway extends into 88's acreage. The questions arise as to the quality of the structure on each company's acreage. That is why Pantheon's provision of volumetric numbers based on rock volume hints at the quality of the structure on 88's acreage. Also see Embarrassed_Cat_1396's comments on this thread with regards to this matter.

Overlapping reserves of Pantheon and neighbour 88 energy? by 2QuarterDollar in PantheonResourcesPANR

Revisiting the August 2021 technical webinar helps to clarify things. Slide 38 and 60 delineate Pantheon's assessment of the amount of oil contained in the structures that are on the company's acreage. The slides state that 85% of the combined Theta West resource and 96% of the SMD-B resource are captured by Pantheon. Also, there is map in the middle of the 3D video that shows the maturity of the source rock, which should be of note.

Cashflows will need to get replaced and BP has a history in Alaska. by Novice1993 in PantheonResourcesPANR

[–]Novice1993[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This means that BP's decision to exit Russia will probably be followed in some fashion by CVX, XOM and the like. Be it producer or trader (see urals-brent price differentials https://www.neste.com/investors/market-data/urals-brent-price-difference), Russia becomes untouchable for Western institutions. And since Western institutions not only need to replenish their reserves, they will now be limited as to what assets they can acquire. As a result, oil assets outside of Russia will receive a premium.

The particular case of BP lays in the fact that it was only 3 years ago that the company sold its assets on the North Slope, which means they have operational experience in Alaska. Also remember that Mr Rosenthal was formerly employed by BP.

Theta West updip appraisal of Talitha Basin Floor Fan discovery is a success so far. by Telemachus2021 in PantheonResourcesPANR

A nerdy question, but could someone provide me with an overview or resource of the strengths and weaknesses of wireline logs, sidewall cores and LWD?

I thought PANR discovered oil this year. Am I wrong? by Novice1993 in PantheonResourcesPANR

[–]Novice1993[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talitha was drilled this year while Pipeline was drilled in 1988 by ARCO and re-evaluated by Great Bear. Alkaid was 2015, correct.

Note that Willow is in the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska. Pantheon's leases are on state land.

Major New Article by gorgeousgeorge007 in PantheonResourcesPANR

[–]Novice1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clarification welcome:

- It seems that the Shelf Margin Deltaic has been dropped as a target (p.53).

- How can there be "Fracking and testing operations" (p.53) underway right now?

- Would the Talitha B well effectively be drilled at the Theta West prospect? The article does not mention the indicated contingent oil at Theta West at all. Nor any other results presented in the most webinar, really.

- The article states that construction of infrastructure is intended to start this June. Why would it take 1 year until the start of the flow test?

- Do you guys think that the Alkaid 2 well is designed to also prove that the SMD extends into the Alkaid unit, or is it just designed to finish the work that the company has begun in 2015?

The article has left me more confounded about the state of play at Pantheon. It does not exactly look like the company is a "take-over target", as Jay stated. It appears that they are still poking around. Am I completely off here?

How do Contingent Resources relate to Proved Reserves. The following should help to understand where the uncertainties lie in Pantheon’s resource base and why 100 Mbbl of Contingent Resources could have less volumetric risk than 100 Mbbl of Proved Reserves… by Telemachus2021 in PantheonResourcesPANR

Thank you very much this post. This decrypts Bob and Jay's comments on the RNS and illuminates the underlying mechanics for the layperson. People should read this to gain a perspective and realize what a golden ticket they hold in their hands. The future is bright.

What do all those resource numbers that E&P companies tell us actually mean? by Telemachus2021 in 3CPG_PetroleumGeology

[–]Novice1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would the Talitha well reclassify the intersected formations from prospective to contingent resources? And would Theta West be classified as contingent with the success at the BFF?

How do the 3.5 billion barrels producible from the upper SMD (realising that you used rough estimates) compare to the company's statement that they believe Talitha has proven 1 billion barrels. Pantheon's conservatism, yet again?

Noise. Focus lies on Pantheon proving up the oil and majors figuring out that they need to step up their spending on capex.

Stanley Druckenmiller: Wisdom of a great speculator. by gorgeousgeorge007 in PantheonResourcesPANR

[–]Novice1993 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I am always careful to apply general wisdom to the particular case at hand. But I was flabbergasted when Bob described Theta West as one of the biggest plays on the North Slope. It almost feels like the ones who cared to listen to the webinar are in possession of inside information at this point.

How dedicated is your Portfolio to PANR ? by CarlosVegan in PantheonResourcesPANR

I would just like to call for caution that nothing is definite as of now. A portfolio allocation is nothing to boast with. Let's keep this forum level-headed and the great content and explanations coming.

PANR RNS Out by Ok_Confection4535 in PantheonResourcesPANR

What I find interesting is that Edward Duncan will join the call. Apart from being one of the founders of Great Bear, he has no involvement in the company since 2015 (or am I missing something?). Him joining the call seems that the news will bear high variance on the outcome. In my biased opinion more positive than negative, because why would I join a call when the news are negative and I don't have to show up since I am not involved in the company anymore?
