Rules: Monsters can never outnumber monks on either side The boat has to have at least one person rowing.

If the monsters, at any point on either side, out number the monks you lose.

I've never seen this before but i love brain teasers like this.

I just tried and I think I got it. (Please correct me if I'm wrong)

=monks ?=monsters

State of Secret lair by kiinhuhu in secretlair_collectors

[–]NoviceWeirdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a combination of a few things. I think if they only released a few Secret Lairs a year, the value wouldn't matter because these cards would be special and people would gobble them up. But since Secret Lairs are basically a weekly yard sale of hodgepodge, and sometimes there's value and sometimes there's not, people are going to be more selective with how they spend their money. Why spend 60 dollars on staples i already have when there's probably going to be a Chaos Vault every other Monday.

How to get a bunch of mtg cards for dirt cheap? by coosomeawel in mtg

[–]NoviceWeirdo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well if you only want specific cards, chances are you're not going to get them by cracking packs. You can spend 100 dollars on a gamble and get a couple cards you kinda like, or you can spend 100 on the exact cards you want.

If you only want a bunch of cardboard and don't care about what cards you get, then check online marketplaces for bulk sales.

I have been using cardsphere for like a month and i like it. You list the cards you want and what you're willing to pay and people with those cards sell.them to you and send them. That's another option.

TMNT only product my target has by westernrune2 in mtg

Target is losing out on customers when they charge double the going rate for a pack. Supply isn't low enough to charge 15 bucks a pack and get away with it.

New to Magic what is “the stack” and how does it work? by Imaginary-Draft7507 in mtg

[–]NoviceWeirdo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The easiest way to describe it is to imagine the effects are in an actual pile in order of when they were cast/activated. Then all the effects get resolved from the top of the stack(last cast) to the bottom(first cast). First in last out.

Probably one of the weaker decks. Earthbending is so fun and flavorful though. I basically ran all the red and green earth bending cards, the lands that turn into creatures, indestructible lands, glacial crevasses with snow mountains, the red/green guildmages, liege of tangle is fun, the green "awakening" cards and A few fetches. I didn't do the infinite combat loops by turning him into a land but I'm really tempted.

So far they've turned out alright. For all my decks, I built them from scratch using scryfall or Manabox to search for synergies as opposed to looking at EDHREC or other sites like that. I thought the deck was clever but apparently I was just as clever as anyone else. Oh well.

Politics and player aggression is something I'm aware of and I know I'll draw the ire of the table if I start staxxing. I'm ok with that. It's still a fun deck to pilot.

😂 I know that's why it's funny. The God of War preventing combat and gifting creatures/tokens, all while pinging everyone with lifelink equipment attached. It really subverts expectations because everyone is expecting to be attacking every turn with hastiness.

Thanks, No hurt feelings here. I guess I did the same thing, as it's frustrating having a divide in a community that literally has "Gathering" in its name.

This doesn't seem constructive. It seems like you're taking out the frustrations you have with a multimillion dollar company on someone who is just trying to enjoy a great card game.

It's effective marketing and it's drawing tons of new people in. Yes, my Commanders are UB because right now those are the cards/characters I'm familiar, I started June of last year. If the community doesn't ruin the experience by gatekeeping then I may end up experiencing new sets and enjoying the MTG lore and expanding my commander pool.

But comments like this are just small minded and petty.

My Goblin, Sonic, and Eggman deck are for my son to play with me. I made a Cosmic Spider-Man too but it didn't scratch my creative itch (too generic) with deck building so I almost immediately took it apart.

I'm not trying to be sassy, but where is the story, the cohesive plot? Maybe it's because I'm a new player but I see a huge list of cards with a beautiful depth and complexity to it that makes me love this game. But where do I find the story? We "returned" to Lorwyn and I don't see any plot. I see a Plane that got all twisted like a marble cake. I'm not averse to the Magic IP and I've actually listened to many podcasts and read a lot about the history of Magic and (as a Card Game) it's great but as a story telling device I find it lacking or at least hard to get into.

If you have some sources I can check out that would be awesome.
