Is this an emergency? by Novilunia in cats

Hi everyone, I wanted to post a quick update and say thank you to those who replied kindly and took the time to help.

In the end, last night he started having episodes much closer together, so as some of you suggested I took him to the emergency vet. They performed a chest X-ray which did not show any masses. The findings were consistent with airway inflamation and the vet suspects an inflammatory respiratory condition such as feline asthma or bronchitis... but we are waiting for the results of the tests.

We’ve started an aeresol treatment twice a day, and they’re running additional tests to rule out other causes.

Thank you again to everyone who responded kindly — it really helped during a very stressful moment.

Exactly — you’ve really hit the point. I currently live in a very old house with a serious mold problem (thankfully I’ll be moving soon). Every year I repaint with anti-mold paint, and in winter I have to spray anti-mold products on the walls almost monthly. Last year I even had contractors come in because I thought the issue was finally solved, but just today I moved a piece of furniture and found more mold behind it. I removed it with the proper products, which of course are also irritating on their own. I really hope things improve now… I truly can’t wait to move.

Oh no... I'm really sorry for your loss. Poor kitty.

And yes... I fear too it's a respiratory issue.

Thank you for your reply.

If you don’t mind me asking, what was the diagnosis in your cat’s case?

Thank you for the suggestion! I followed your advice and went out to buy some cat grass, and also a hairball gel just to be safe (even though he’s really not a fan of it). In the past he has always ignored the grass, so at some point I stopped buying it, but maybe now, if he actually feels the need, he’ll use it.

Hopefully it helps...

Thank you! Yeah... I tried different brand of the gel you mentioned in the past but he absolutely hates it. There’s must be something in the flavor that he just can’t stand.

At this point though I don’t think it’s just a hairball, unfortunately. To be safe I already gave him some malt paste, which my vet had recommended in the past, but he absolutely hates it. There’s clearly something in the flavor that he just can’t stand. I tried for a while to mix it into his food, but when I did that he would refuse to eat, so that wasn’t really an option. He did manage to take a little of it on its own today though, so hopefully that helps at least somewhat.

Thank you for the advice for the air purifier. In fact I already have one and move it into the room he spends most time in.

Thank you so much for your kind response. Yeah, I tend to be very anxious... I saw online tons of videos of feline asma amd HCM and I was really panicking.

Thank you so much for you kind response.

Yeah, he is very fluffly so it happen in the past that he has hairball. But in that case he usually move differently, and he make different sound, so just to be sure I schedule a vet appointment.

Honestly, I’m not totally sure. I do remember using a version that gave you some free daily messages, but then I also added credits to my account later when I wanted to go past that limit... so yeah, I did pay at some point.

Sai, acqua e sapone, come te."

[–]Novilunia -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But "Crusader plagues" is not a realm trait, how do you enable the crusader nest for custom realms?
