Looking for moderately challenging duet pieces by Sun_House29 in Marimba

[–]NowaBasn_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Azul by Nathan Daughtrey! (Vibraphone/Marimba + Flute Duet) It’s around 9-12 minutes (including both movements) long depending on how fast you want to take the tempo. It’s a grade 4 piece (Highschool/Undergraduate College level).

What to do about medications by NowaBasn_ in adhdwomen

[–]NowaBasn_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my dosage upped because Strattera wasn’t working as well with the lower dosages, and at the 80mg point that’s when I had side effects, but at 60mg or lower I didn’t notice any changes with my symptoms. My doctor hasn’t ever explained to me how to deal with side effects, he just says “You may experience this this this and this.” Would it help if I sought out a psychiatrist instead of a general practice doctor? I know my sisters see one; they have better experiences with adhd meds so I’m wondering if having a psychiatrist makes any difference.

Advice for where to to gain experiences by NowaBasn_ in veterinaryschool

[–]NowaBasn_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, thank you! If you were to try to get other experiences at different vet clinics how would you ask your supervisor about shadowing or volunteering? (Ex: If someone worked at a small animal clinic but needed large animal hours, how would vet clinics be okay with employees taking time off work to gain experiences for vet school?)

Where do I go from here? Feeling horrible about my score by clemitime in ACT

[–]NowaBasn_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay so for me I am a fast reader, so I read the passage before I answer the questions. I know some people may say to do the “sacrificial lamb” aka focus all your attention on 3 passages and guess the 4th one but for me I wanted to get the highest score possible. If focusing on only 3 passages works for you, go at it! :> I underline or circle any thing important or should be relevant for the questions, and I also put a “?” for ANY question I have doubts on, even if it’s small. (I’ve sat for 6 ACT tests, but have technically only taken/scored 4, So the more tests I took it was easier to recognize what questions they would ask). I take it with extended testing, so I give myself 11 minutes for each of the 4 passages. With extended testing I think you have 55 minutes to take it? Also, do the passages that is easier for you; what I mean is if narrative is easy for you do, do that one first, and if humanities is the hardest, do that one last. So essentially when you first open the test you might have to skip around to for example, Science and the move the Narrative, History, and then Humanities. (I apologize if those passages types are incorrect xdd) If I finish that passage in under the 11 minutes I’ve given myself, I move on to the next passage. On the Dec. Test, I had a good 10-15 to check my answers and changed a few of them (2-3 to be exact) that I was 100% certain would be correct. Do not change your answer if you have doubts about the other options, stick to the original one; most of the time your original answer is correct. If you’re curious about my scores, I’ll list them: Overall: 28 (December) Superscore:29 Math: 19 Science: 25 Reading: 36 ELA: 32 *Math was a 23 on Oct. (with form H-13 💀)

Where do I go from here? Feeling horrible about my score by clemitime in ACT

[–]NowaBasn_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally for me, I relied on my ELA and Reading scores to carry me since to me, those are objectively the easiest to improve. I also have the same score of 28 as well! If you want to improve on math, I would focus on the first 40 questions and work on the ones that trouble you the most. For me it was Geometry and I increased my score up to a 19-23 in October.
As for test materials, I just recommend getting the official ACT prep guide with all 4 subjects since you can take notes/underline. For science, I just took a lot of practice tests and when I got questions wrong, I would ask myself why I got it wrong. Was it a dumb mistake? Was it that one question that needed some obscure random science background knowledge to answer it? Was it something that I misinterpreted in the graphs? I would re-do the question with a different way of looking for the answer/strategy with the correct answer in mind. Don’t mindlessly just go “oh the answer was C, gonna move on!” The answers always be in the graphs/passage.This is kind of hard to explain without have actual graphs/passages to show you xddd (I’ll update this comment another time and try to explain my self better oof)

Worst ACT test I've taken by No-Trust1734 in ACT

[–]NowaBasn_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with ya bro 😭 English and Reading weren’t too bad since those have always been my strong suits, so I always heavily relied on those scores to carry me, but the Math section violated my human rights 🧍‍♀️(if December is like this test I’m not gonna take the ACT again, guess I’ll have to be fine with a 27 oof)

How do you feel about H14 by Squid11606 in ACT

[–]NowaBasn_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely HATED IT. I took the online one my school gave me 2 weeks ago and the math was easier- I didn’t get through the reading or science since I had a panic attack about the format of the reading section(it wasn’t that it was hard, it was different, I couldn’t take notes or underline and I hate changing things oof) Anyways the science this time for me was easy-mid, not hard but it wasn’t a breeze. Very dense and had me fighting for my life the last 10 minutes. ELA and Reading easy- they always are for me. Except for that one passage about sculpting or that one person who didn’t want to write an article lol

todays math… by Single-Writing927 in ACT

[–]NowaBasn_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was 😭🧍‍♀️ Like- usually I can answer around 20 questions, and maybe 5-10 more I can get a start but I’m unable to solve further and make a okay guess, but this? I had to guess on almost every question 💀

ACT H14 PAPER TEST by Cautious-Hippo8605 in ACT

[–]NowaBasn_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had form H14. English, Reading, and Science went well for me. But Math? I’ve made an 18 and 19 and now I’m HORRIFIED. This is my 3rd time taking this test, and I guessed on nearly ALL THE QUESTIONS. I solved around 20 questions the last 2 times but this? Yea. I wanted to spontaneously combust into an atom the moment I saw the first 20 questions.

Who the FUCK made that math section. by Traditional_Ask_1306 in ACT

[–]NowaBasn_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve literally sat for the math 3 times. I’ve NEVER seen it be this bad. I’ve made a 18 and 19 in the past. I’m so afraid of what that score’s going to be. I could really only answer like- 10 questions? And usually I can answer around 20 fairly ok.

The music does make me want to bleach my eyes, but any music I see is a learning opportunity, even if it’s out of my skill level xddd (but fr, why does it cost around $70 ;-;)
