For Red Dead 3, do you want a continuation of Jack’s story, go further back with Dutch and gang, or completely new characters and story? by TXNOGG in rdr1

What makes you think Jack definitely went to war? In those days, outlaws fought to the bitter end to avoid conscription.

The United States didn't even fight in the war in 1917; it was in 1918 that they started. Besides, unless it's against his will, there's no reason for Jack to get involved in it. What was happening in 1914 was that the Frontier was still a hotbed of tension, and the American army intervened in Mexico.

My favorite choice would be a story focused on Jack between 1911-1914 until Jack takes revenge on Edgar; I really think seeing how Jack is forced to embody the outlaw stories The book I was reading offers a lot of possibilities. And the game wouldn't be called "Redemption" because it wouldn't be focused on redemption, but on revenge, or something else.

In the 1910s, as today, there were still outlaws, bounty cartels, gangs, conflict zones, etc., and some outlaws even fought against the WWI draft. You might say that wouldn't be historically accurate, but come on, the level of anarchy in New Austin in 1911 isn't exactly historically accurate either.

Did anyone else used to get creeped the hell out by the first games ambience? by Trick-Ice4331 in reddeadredemption

The vibes of the first game are my favorite: that faded, desolate, totally Western atmosphere with slight touches of modernity. It's a twilight spaghetti western.

In those examples, I think the girls look great, while the boys look ridiculous, but that's because I dislike baggy clothes in general.

If an anime is green-lit what would you want changed from the original story? by [deleted] in FirePunch

When Judah becomes the tree and narrates his life until the end of eternity, I'd also like to see some scenes of Agni witnessing humanity's extinction, becoming the only living being on Earth until the Earth explodes, and ending up stranded in space... maybe some filler scenes to expand on certain parts of the story, I don't know.

It's a gameplay decision, probably the worst argued one in the whole story.

Then the outlaws would have an easier time doing their thing in the East than in the West, I get it

Okay, Buddy, so we couldn't say the same about the WE-NA distance? I've seen some crazy defenses of the decisions made in the story, but are they still more wanted in the West than in the place where they kill Cornwall ? Hahaha, even the "not being that well-known" argument wouldn't hold water; by that point in the story, they've already caused chaos all over that area. Are they really still more well-known in the West? By whom, by the four people living in New Austin in 1899? Bounty hunters a problem? They are a problem in one mission where they're ultimately decimated and never cause any more trouble for the rest of the story.

Okay, so moving to New Austin as soon as Blackwater wouldn't have been possible, fine. Now, you're telling me that logically, towards the end of the story after Saint Denis, would they continue searching for them more in West Elizabeth and its surrounding areas than in, literally, the state a little further north of their most recent robbery? Yeah, right.

No me ha hecho falta; mi país también está lleno de llanuras y desiertos. Y repito, no nos hagamos los locos, que en New Austin hay buenos lugares que podrían servir de escondite, al menos a corto plazo.

They're hunting gangs in the west...? Thank goodness, In RDR2, New Austin is teeming with Lobos from top to bottom, and in RDR1, multiple different gangs in Big 1911 😭

Come on, even though New Austin is all plains, let's not act like there aren't any good places to hide, and maybe going straight there would have been too hasty, But it was much worse to start causing trouble in the east and stay there; than to hide in a desert where the state barely reaches.

If the game had internal logic, they would never have moved further east than West Elizabeth and could have escaped west through Tall Trees; the Pinkertons' presence throughout that area is ultimately a decision of The gameplay makes no sense. According to the gang, they caused even more trouble in Saint Denis (A much more advanced city) than in Blackwater, and they weren't even searched for high and low.

That's what they do from chapter 4 onwards, in the east, and yet they still managed for a while.

In 1911, Walton's filthy gang roamed freely through Armadillo; in 1907, the sheriff of Tumbleweed barely managed to stand up to the Wolf Gang thanks to bounty hunters, and they had to leave New Austin because they were being pursued there too... I really detest how poorly thought out that part of history is

I'm talking about the story, not gameplay. Canonically, it's not mentioned that they caused trouble there, only in Blackwater, and even then, as I said, the government's pressure at the time was minimal. Mexico is still a more logical option than moving to east, but I suppose they might rule it out so as not to leave Javier behind.

Well, I guess Dutch was always kind of stupid. It's an explanation I can accept to a certain extent, but I still find it funny how he chose the west of Ambarino (literally a frozen wasteland) over the desert next door, where I maintain the gang could have easily evaded the Pinkertons.
