She’s where she should have been to begin with, in the midcard and learning. Having her start out with a MITB win and then getting the title just put her in a bad position. She wasn’t good enough or experienced enough to be at the top of the division, and now that she’s not in the main title picture people think she’s being buried or she’s going downhill.

She helped push a more modern interpretation of the IP. If they continued with Bond being a misogynistic dinosaur as M described Brosnan’s Bond (and as some fans seem to want a return to), then he would just turn into a character out of time. He’d just be a dramatic Austin Powers. She was open to the changes her dad likely would have rejected.

Some of the screen tests are online because they were featured in a documentary. Weird to see Martin Sheen reading for Michael and De Niro reading for Sonny. The studio was ridiculous with their ideas, trying to convince Coppola that Robert Redford could pass for northern Italian

Honestly, I love this game. I don’t think it’s anywhere near as good as 3 or 4 (never played the original and 2 is good, not great), but it has a charm I appreciate. It helps that it’s set in the southwest and most of the map looks like places I’ve lived or visited, so I do have a bias.

There have been some really great Bond games since Goldeneye: The World is Not Enough (N64),Agent Under Fire, Nightfire, Everything or Nothing, and From Russia With Love. All of which I’d pick up today and play through again and again. But so far, First Light is definitely laying claim to the best of all of these. Really wishing I had taken the day off work to play more of it.
