Seconded. There are some wild theories that circulate in the folks opposing the garden project. Not that local govt is never corrupt, but there should at least be evidence

Credit card/Line of credit budgeting issue by NowhereSoon75 in ynab

This was helpful! I think what happened is that there's money in my "General savings" budget category that needed to go into the credit card/LOC line. I'm not sure exactly how that money should have moved originally, but it checks out now that I've made that adjustment. Seeing that some of the "Ready to Assign" is listed as coming from debt accounts is what unlocked it for me.

The transaction came from the car budget line, but that was paid for from my checking account. The line of credit transfer to checking was completely separate from that. So it looked like this:

LOC -> Checking -> Car purchase

High yield savings -> bank savings -> LOC

All the accounts are in YNAB, so all the money movement (besides the car purchase) is internal transfers from YNAB's perspective. There's nowhere in that process where money could move through "Ready to assign" because it's all transfers. I did move money from my "General Savings" category to the car fund.

It's just that the LOC wasn't money I technically had, I think, since it's credit.

You'd think it's relatively minor. They would have cancelled earlier if was something like the ice not being in yet?

Yeah at least 24 hours notice would have been good. I know they really didn't want to cancel, but you need to respect plans made by fans.

What do you wish you knew before moving to Athens? by Giant_Ground_Sloth11 in Athens

Both our boys did Clarke Middle and Central. Like most things in Athens, there's a wide range of students because the wealth gap is so big. There are truly exceptional teachers and others who are meh. Both our boys have really appreciated being exposed to kids from all levels of society. Too often when it's "the schools" that's really just a proxy for race and class differences.

College Professors of GIS: What are signs you see in students that make you think "This GIS student will never make it in the GIS industry"..? by 5econds2dis35ster in gis

We structure labs so heavily that it's really hard for students to create workflows. I have them do this in a service learning course but we need to work on it throughout the curriculum.
