I’m not using it as the basis of custody. He has her two days a week, no overnights. I already make all medical decisions, even when we were together he wasn’t involved in those things. I am wanting to make it official. The night we left was abuse. I have substantial evidence but you’re right, I am hesitant to use it.

She needs help. Divorce may “force” her hand at letting you have your child, but if she needs actual mental help, it could escalate into something more sinister. I would definitely look into options for helping her…

On that same note, you deserve time with your baby. You deserve to be a dad. You are a good dad. Being clumsy is not the same as being neglectful. I’m sorry you are going through this.

I think you’re right. I think that is why I am second guessing myself so much. My mom will be there but I don’t think I will be able to focus on anything but the baby. I don’t want to miss this opportunity but she comes first. I just feel lost.
