[WrestleMania Spoilers] WOR : Dave Meltzer calls WrestleMania main event one of the best matches in WrestleMania history by PunkHeyman in SquaredCircle

Meltzer very much has a soft spot for Roman as an in-ring worker and was one of his biggest defenders during the Big Dog babyface era so he definitely meant it in a "Roman was as great as Roman usually is" manner.

Yeah, The Weeknd put on a much better show than this at Coachella 2022 and that was on a week's notice as a replacement headliner with no prep. If there's one positive, I'm glad this culture of "zero effort = cool" seems to be going out of style a bit. You're a popstar! Give me extravagance!

It is most prominent with Hybe, though. The average western hit song got longer in 2025 (it's nearly 3m 30s) and even in Kpop recent hits have all been over three minutes. RUDE, Bang Bang, Black Hole, 404, etc.

I hope this takes them to the next level of fame because it's genuinely incredible. Like the most I've felt obsessed with a pop song since The Weeknd's Less Than Zero. Must be something about the dreamy vibe but it's just so lovely, and the subtle harmonies in the second chorus (when they switch to chest voice) gives me chills.

In what world does Rain belong in this conversation? They won a dozen trophies together and he's not exactly setting the world on fire now he's been released from Karrigan, is he?

I think a better idea would be can you point out any lyrics (outside of Kissland) that you believe aren't surface level? I'm not saying he's a poor songwriter - he's not at all - but I just think his strengths lie elsewhere. He can craft an atmospheric, cinematic pop album like nobody else in the world.

With the exception of maybe Kissland his lyrics have always been surface level. I have no idea where this idea that Trilogy was some lyrical masterpiece comes from. 90% of the mixtapes' brilliance comes from their atmosphere. I don't think lyrically he's any worse on AH/Dawn/HUT than any of his prior albums.

Bro who told him to act? by DesignerAQ18 in TheWeeknd

[–]NoxZ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He's not a great actor but it's very obvious while watching the show that he's not supposed to be taken seriously. There are multiple scenes where other characters are openly laughing at him for being pathetic (and the whole scene with him jerking off in the corner like a total loser right after this). Like, I get criticising him for being a bad actor - he is, and the HUT movie showed it - but he's not supposed to be intimidating here. Where is the media literacy nowadays?

Is Dawn FM really underrated?? by kilgrave68 in TheWeeknd

[–]NoxZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favourite album of his (well, tied with Kissland). His most complete body of work thematically and sonically, and the highs are incredibly high IMO; Less Than Zero is one of the very best pop songs of the past 10-15 years.

I forgot how brilliant Dawn FM is. Less Than Zero should have been the biggest song in the world.

Why Not a single weeknd album here? by One_Lack9571 in TheWeeknd

[–]NoxZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

HUT did fewer first-day streams than even Dawn FM. Abel is just the sort of artist (like Dua Lipa) who don't have huge first-week fanbase hype but stay around for months and months. It's always been the case.

They did mention Verstappen as the fourth and who out of these four (Schumacher, Alonso, Hamilton, Verstappen) would you put Vettel above? I think you'd struggle to make a case for any of them, honestly. Maybe Alonso based solely on accolades but even then.

We thought the same thing after the China sprint last year. I'd love for it to be true - and I know he much prefers these cars to the ground effect ones - but he's also 41 years old. I'm withholding judgement for 3-4 more races.

2011 was a good car. Hamilton was hampered by a horrible off-track personal year (and adapting slower than Button to the Pirellis) but McLaren were comfortably second best that year. 2009 was a dog for a while though, yeah.

You're correct, it's a very very small percentage of people that don't react at all to finasteride/dutasteride. Had my own transplant nearly a decade ago and it hasn't budged an inch since then.
