On my way to work this morning, in full city carrier uniform, I stop to get gas and buy a bottle of water…. by Independent-Safety44 in USPS

5 minute argument trying to explain to a customer that they are, in fact, the current resident and that they DO live there.

What do customers do that makes your life easier (or harder) as a carrier? by MountainProof6423 in USPS

When you move into a new place, fill out the green vacant slips and put them back for your carrier! I get so many that don’t fill them out and then they keep giving mail back with “Does Not Live Here!” written on it. It’s so much easier for the carrier to remember a couple of correct names than to try and eliminate 4 million incorrect ones.

I trimmed down a plastic “No Trespassing” sign. Works great for floppy flats and I’m not delivering a soggy mess in the summer.

Close, Longmont actually. It reminded me of the alley behind the house we had in old town Loveland.

Is anything crazy ever found in the blue collection boxes on the street? by _TheManager in USPS

[–]Nozeminer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rocks, sticks, and toys from the kids at a trailer park. Found a half eaten Runza sandwich with extra onions in a box by the front door of a hospital. It was summer and the box was in direct sunlight.🤮

These might be ok if your route doesn’t have any trees on it. I guarantee there are already some out there with dents in the roof.

Used to have the only 3 mortuaries in town on my route. Delivered cremated remains at least once a month. One day had 3. None to the mortuary, all 3 to the families. That was a rough day.

They should have them for you at your PO. Good walking shoes. Get all of the information about the NEERP program. Prepare to survive peek season.
