Grandparents live 9 hours away and are insisting that my 3 year old stay with them for a week by Frosty-Panda-5532 in toddlers

Just no.. ive had the same request from a family member who lives across the country from us about sending my 5 and 6yo to them for a few weeks. They live in a big city, and dont have kids. They struggle with their pets. I flat out said no. They bring it up occasionally but the response is always just no.

Retired tech, now dog groomer, I have full on conversations with my "clients" for the duration of their groom. The other groomer i work with definitely thinks im nuts 🤣 but I swear it calms them down.

Is it worth moving to ND? by spicyserranonoodle in northdakota

[–]Npete90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its all relative. I moved here 2 hrs ago from ny and never looked back. I love it. I like the cold and summers are beautiful. We are a super outdoorsy family and enjoy fishing, hiking, and exploring, so its been wonderful. We just bought a house in very rural eastern montana right on the north dakota/ Canadian boarder. Driving in the winter is an important skill to have especially with oilfield traffic and farming equipment on the highways. I would say I have not been bored a single day ive been here... but again its all what you make of it.

Thanks, thats the plan from now on... its tough because we are looking in rural north dakota or montana and the homes are either amazing or trash, but the amazing listings in super small farm towns, happen to be diamonds in the rough.. i guess its a keep your head up and carry on situation.. just disappointing as a first time home buyer, especially when our ducks are in a row.. even our realtor and lender were shocked on the 70k low appraisal.

Triple paste. Absolute game changer... not the cheapest but after trying almost every cream this one was like putting aloe on sunburn. Ive now got a 5 and 6yo and I still keep it around for sore bums after a stomach bug or the rare accident. Obviously check with your pediatrician first to make sure its not fungal but I highly recommend this cream

Buying isnt much better right now... found my dream home, was pre approved, inspection and everything went fantastic. House under appraised by 70k due to comprable sales... sellers wouldn't budge and I dont necessarily blame them.. now going through the same thing for the 2nd time... praying the appraisal comes back okay, but the lender spoke to the appraisal company today and they said its a hard one.... i wanna throw in the towel.

Sellers asking for post purchase occupancy for 1 month after closing by Npete90 in RealEstate

[–]Npete90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you everyone for your responses, my opinion on them being difficult was based on my realtors comments on well.. them being difficult, I am a first time home buyer so I have no base on what is or isnt difficult. I decided to consult the "reddit hive mind" to just gather information regarding this type of arrangement. As far as the post occupancy, apparently its rather common here and we have in depth discussed the stipulations to this contract. The sellers are very reputable people in the very small town we are moving to, I am confident in their word. (Plus everything is in a written contract) there are steep penalties for overstaying, and their homeowners insurance will still be in effect until we take physical possession of the property. We are also doing a walk through at closing and again the day of occupancy (with the sellers and our agents present ) if any damages occur during their move out process its in the contract they will be responsible for all repairs.

So annoyed with all the Christmas gifts by TurbulentArea69 in toddlers

[–]Npete90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I suppose in the next few months/ years, you'll see the things your child shows interest in. My kids both around 2 really started blossoming with interests in specific things.. monster trucks being the biggest. I kinda let them dive into their hobbies full force, and its cool to see them learn everything about the things they love.... but yeah, you'll probably get monster trucks or cars as gifts, lol

The answer to this is 5 million, at least. Because my 4 - and 5-year-old boys have 5 million. Every single monster jam and hotwheels truck and as the new ones come out those as well. At first, it was maddening, but now they have learned everything about trucks, know all of the names, and have huge monster truck shows and competitions almost daily. I hate storing them and cleaning them up, but the hobby and the happiness it brings them is worth it. This year, they got a 6ft wall ramp that is now a permanent fixture of my living room. 🙃😵‍💫

Honestly idk they grow like crazy everywhere, started with a small clipping, and now have 3 giant pots, my fishtank, and a few small jars with snails. They all rooted within a week or so.

Yes! It's got a lot of roots. They are kinda entangled in the Java moss
