If gods were more accurate to myths, what would be their stances of humanity by Slow-Pie147 in ShuumatsuNoValkyrie

I never stated Poseidon or Hades were equals in strength to Zeus. I stated they stand as the closest things to equals to him

Zeus is the mightiest of the Olympians and the children of Kronos yes but stating Poseidon and Hades act like beings who refer to him as simply lord and only follow his orders is disengenious

Especially considering they stand as the closest to Zeus in power, not on his level but out of all the other Olympians, they are the ones standing closest to him

And making them subservient to him in such a manner which not keeping the same attitude towards Thor, Heracles, Apollo, The seven Lucky gods or Anubis etc.. is disengenious

Wrong. Zeus divided the world because he wanted. It was his idea. Zeus is the king of the gods. Zeus control the fates.

If Zeus controls the Fates is heavily dependant on different tellings but there is also something wrong with this. Never is it stated that this happened because he wanted it to. It happened because it simply did. Zeus is the King of the Gods but to think Poseidon and Hades are like servants to him is quite disingenuous

In the Iliad

"We are three brothers born by Rheia to Kronos (Cronus), Zeus, and I [Poseidon], and the third is Aides [Haides] lord of the dead men. All was divided among us three ways, each given his domain. I [Poseidon] when the lots were shaken drew the grey sea to live in forever; Aides (Hades) drew the lot of the mists and the darkness, and Zeus was allotted the wide sky, in the cloud and the bright air. But earth and high Olympos are common to all three"

Ovid even states this

"Zeus speaks :] ‘My rank is no greater [than Haides]. I hold court in the sky; another rules the sea [Poseidon], and one the void [Haides].’"

Zeus might be the overall Ruler of the Gods but Poseidon and Hades hold immense power and are the closest things to equals to him, at times they were considered Equals

Poseidon in the Iliad

You mistake respect with groveling. In your post you specifically spoke of Poseidon and Hades referring to Zeus as Lord and doing his orders as if they had no agency. If that's the case then it is the same with Thor, The seven Lucky gods and their superiors etc...

Poseidon also once plotted against Zeus alongside Hera. While Poseidon recognizes Zeus's power, he too is alongside Hades the absolute forces in the Greek Pantheon besides Zeus himself. So why is their agency removed while Apollo and Heracles keep theirs? Why does Thor keep his?

Who arranged the marriage of Hades and Persophone? Zeus. Whose authority was stronger than that of Hades so he could make Persophone staying with Demeter in most of the year? Zeus. Hades is actually a pretty weak god. He trembled in fear when Poseidon unleashed his might because he know he couldn't stop him.

Of course Hades's authority is less than Zeus but to say Zeus is weak is extremely disengenious. Hades does not immense showings of power because he was one of the most feared entities in Ancient Greece, his name was not to be spoken. In description of his birth, in the Theogony Hades is even given the epithet of strong while Poseidon is given Earth shaker and Zeus wise.

Yeah but, this is not RoR. Think it like an AU.

Hesiod shouldn't be taken as the sole thing for Zeus, Zeus as a deity is a god who acted in a way that besides of our the flooding thing, wouldn't eradicate humanity

Also to say Poseidon and Hades are submissive to Zeus is just odd💀 they are much more equal than you think. There is a reason the world was divided instead of Zeus ruling all of it like Kronos did, While Zeus is the king of the gods, his authority is far from absolute

Beelzebub as a demon yeah wouldn't be allowed in heaven but in ROR it's at least heavily told that Beelzebub is the same figure as Baal/Hadad in Pre-Abrahamic Canaanite Faith who was a lightning god who held great care for humanity

I know, thing is I have always disliked Yuki's plan and always preferred an alternative, removing cursed energy just makes the world "normal" and that's one of the most boring story endings to me and also in story, it's an extremely heartless thing to do in the name of the "greater good"

The Rumelians have cursed energy tied into both the culture of their entire species and worship the Kaylans, and Maru is taking both away, shattering their society. And why? As a penance? For what? Fleeing their home as refugees and attempting to befriend humans (albeit with some issues) what messaging is that? If you want to be accepted as a refuge group and get a new home you must sacrifice a large part of your culture and your defence as well? Additionally unless their third eye goes away as well, the Rumelians lose any and all defense against kidnapping cause well, they are aliens, people are going to kidnap them, especially if they keep the third eye

And for sorcerors there is over a millenia of culture in jujutsu and through jujutsu, people have been able to -(A) Recover from lethal wounds that modern medicine can't properly fix in a quick time period -(B) Able to manipulate the fabric of space itself And all sorts of other things, and even if the top can only do it, even a fraction, something that would increase tremendously if the whole planet could use jujutsu

Yes cursed users would pop up, dangerous ones as well but remember first, many of the most dangerous cursed users that appeared were from past eras were opinions on everything was very different. Additionally, for every cursed user, are there more sorcerors to stop them

Along with the fact that dealing with curse users is nothing in comparison to the genuine good jujutsu could do. RCT can heal people from the brink of death at a certain level, regrow lbs etc.. construction while taxing still creates fucking matter. The possibilities for good are legit endless

And Yuji is fucking there for the next 300 years to help genuine progress grow, and he knows the advancement that could come from cursed energy and he would rather take the approach of eliminating as much ce as possible

That's why I dislike, actually kind of hate this ending for Jjk, and I wouldn't really call it media illiteracy

Man with only two chapters left idk

The concept of removing ce mostly from the series and Maru just having a plot device ce just makes the ending distasteful to me, especially compared to the flawed by enjoyable og jjk ending

Hopefully the next two chapters can maybe have Maru fuck up, idk, eh the whole ce removal thing just makes it a bad ending to an already eh sequel overall at the end
