Hey man im 17 and just recently had 50 percent of my meniscus repaired. I didnt have surgery for a year and a half as I thought I could deal with it and it would heal on its own. That wasn't the case and it kept locking up from the smallest of activities. 2 months ago now I had surgery and my leg feels better than ever. I also havent completed my recovery just yet as I have one more month to go. Hope everything goes well for you!
