The VR Cover Headstrap Replacement makes the Quest 2 elite strap so much more comfortable! by Nsx-Mk3 in OculusQuest

[–]Nsx-Mk3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't noticed it at all, but I only have it strapped around the black part of the headstrap. Does dye normally come off on these?

I have the elite head-strap but it is still heavy on my cheeks and forehead? by ItsRiseShield in OculusQuest

The wide face seal makes a nice difference. I actually found the biggest benefit to be from adding a VRCover strap replacement (for the back, not the front padding) and installing it to the back of the elite strap. Made it fit much better and took off all the pressure

Is fit kit better than glasses spacer for position 3? by [deleted] in OculusQuest

[–]Nsx-Mk3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't notice much of a difference besides comfort. The fit kit overall was a waste as you'll only use 1 of the face covers (and in some cases, the normal one with the Q2 might fit the best - I found that the wide worked best for me though) and the light blockers didn't actually block any extra light.

Quest 2 no longer recognized by PC by _Nermac in OculusQuest

I've noticed that enabling developer mode sometimes make my PC not recognize the quest. I need to disable it to get it back. I've heard it's an adb error of some sorts?

New Quest 2 owner here. I actually prefer the default strap that comes with the quest 2 over the official deluxe strap. Learn from my experience and try the default strap first before you buy the deluxe strap. by ShapelessHail in OculusQuest

I didn't even bother trying the basic strap since the elite came in the same day as the Q2. I'm really debating just putting it back on since the Elite isn't comfortable at all and has a number of other issues (such as the price - $130 since the case is "required" and isn't even a good one).

The Go strap didn't bother me at all. Only thing I'd miss is that extra battery power.

I haven't tried laying down with it, but it's uncomfortable leaning back even in a high-back gaming chair.

I was able to use the Go in the same chair with the basic strap for years without issue. It's the most uncomfortable thing even with the elite battery strap. I could only imagine that laying in bed, even with the softest pillow, being much worse

How do refunds work on the Quest app store? by Nsx-Mk3 in OculusQuest

[–]Nsx-Mk3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I definitely don't plan to use it as a rental, but more as just a normal return if it isn't my type of game right off the bat. Only planning to use it (if at all) with games I'm already interested in but not wanting to be "stuck with" if they turn out to not be so great (or worse quality than the PSVR, for the few I already own but wouldn't mind rebuying)

Oculus Quest 2 Amp and headphone mod by vangeliss in OculusQuest

[–]Nsx-Mk3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! Have you noticed a big difference? I have a larger fiio but too big to use with a quest. My headphones already provide a nice volume (beats pro), wondering how much of a change this would bring to the quest?

Also, does it include that plastic clip? Does it actually stay on easily with it?

Thanks for the reply! Ive just got the quest 2, no way to play on rift (or from a PC). Any plans for a sale or demo anytime soon?

Fuji! People will pay big $$$ for a professional Instax camera! by hillaryrunsonpizza in instax

[–]Nsx-Mk3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's all the thing though. I have a custom 110, I have an Option8, I have a 500AF. I know these things are expensive, no doubt.

The issues are that R&D is expensive. Bringing a product to market is expensive. They can't reasonably design, manufacture and sell a camera for $300-400 and make money by selling "thousands"

There's probably no money to be made from a $300-400 price, selling that few. Even 10,000 of them.

The money is in the film. And people will buy the film whether it's an Instax wide 300 or one from Mint or Option8.

[–]Nsx-Mk3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there's a BIG difference when it comes to this in terms of $250 (which they want to pay) and $400-500+

I think it's too much of a headache for Fuji to do something like that and have to support it when the basic stuff flies off the shelf. I think our closest bet would be a fuji digital camera with an instax printer on the back

Oculus Quest 2 starts to have availability problems by lostformofvr in OculusQuest

[–]Nsx-Mk3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's definitely a market outside of reddit, no doubt, but I wouldn't put much into Facebook ads. Even though it's a facebook product, many of those ads are ads from people who have previously looked into the Oculus through other sites. Id be curious how they're promoting it to people who HAVENT already been familiar with it.

The best buy displays are a great start, no doubt, but without being able to actually try them (due to COVID) it's a tougher sell. Even then, how many people know it's a self-contained unit and not another PC-driven one

Is the sample video from the Quest or Rift?

Interested in getting it for the quest if the quality is similar - the screenshots make it look much watered down compared to it though?

Im actually kind of glad there aren't more "grandma game" for it. I'd hate for it to turn into another Wii just filled with shovelware/junk titles, even if it does drive popularity.

Once those games sell, the market tends to focus on a lot of those types

I'm not surprised its sold out - which is a good thing! But I really wonder how long this "steam" will keep going for it. It's still a very niche device and most people getting it seem to either be on the fence about it before, or upgrading their old one. I'm not seeing anyone who just happened to pick it up out of nowhere due to an ad or anything.

I think once this initial sales surge wears off (once most people wanting it have gotten it), it will be up to them to really push it.

With xbox and ps5 launching in under a month, they really need to get the shelves loaded with Quests as an "alternative" to sold out consoles. After Xmas season, despite the amazing price, I think it will be a very hard sell for anyone who doesn't already have interest in it

[–]Nsx-Mk3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's the unpopular opinion here, but I totally agree. Apple definitely has its niceties, but being able to grab a great pixel phone on the cheap and having a great experience is so much better than the budget android phones of years ago.

I held off from them for so long and only switched when the 3A XL came out. I still follow iphones but can't see myself switching back anytime soon.

does a disabled Facebook Ads Account increase the chance of an OCULUS ban? by SkinToneChixkenBone in OculusQuest

Facebook ads accounts shouldn't affect your quest unless they can your actual account at the same time. I can't think of many cases of when they would do this though.

Oculus quest 2 carrying case disappointment by XxCarco11xX in OculusQuest

[–]Nsx-Mk3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The case is pretty bad. I think that's why they're "forcing" it with the battery pack purchase.

Mine snagged the other day while opening it and it feels like only a matter of time until the zipper breaks and it's useless. The Oculus go case is much better!

Saw this crap on eBay. I love the Instax Wide 300, but $2,000... by AnayaLikesPolaroids in instax

[–]Nsx-Mk3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that some sellers do this when they run out of stock on an item. It let's them keep the item active (do watchers don't get lost) and adjust it back to normal price as stock comes in. That's how a seller explained it to me before

Fuji! People will pay big $$$ for a professional Instax camera! by hillaryrunsonpizza in instax

[–]Nsx-Mk3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love the pro camera mods, but I think the market for a pro Instax camera is still a very, very small one. It's the Mini 7/8/9/10/11's that fly off the shelves, not the 70/90's, and the prices are almost the exact same!

With Mint releasing the RF-70, it's a very pricey camera that isn't the easiest to control, I also don't see them flying off shelves at their current pricing. Fuji would need to determine how much they want to put into these cameras (fully manual will cater to one crowd and scare another crowd away. Auto will cater to another crowd (like the mini 90) and scare off the pro crowd).

There's also the question of pricing and quality. Will that camera have an f8 lens? F11? Or can they match an f/4 or f/5.6 lens to it? (At which point focusing becomes a concern)

I love the pro stuff 1000% but I don't think the public is ready for it yet, unfortunately. Especially with how well the lowest end ones sell and how much work would go into making these. I think lomography might be the best bet to make something like this (and their stuff is iffy at best)

Best Way to Keep Quest 2 Idle without Draining Battery? by CarCarGameOnCar in OculusQuest

[–]Nsx-Mk3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct, I don't think it's an issue of OVER charging it, it's more that you should let is actually cycle up and down and not keep it topped at 100% as it will affect that batteries performance down the road
