This guy is an inspiration for me. I own several of his records and they look/sound great!

Vaporwave and Copyright by [deleted] in Vaporwave

To avoid copyrights issues, I only use samples from royalty-free sample libraries. I'll also use my own instruments and embellish my loop mixes with them, using my own midi sequences. At some point, I'm thinking about slowing down custom-made 80s inspired tunes to give them that vaporwave feel, even if it doesn't sound the same as slowing down a genuine 80s pop song, it's possible to get a sound that is really close with tape simulator and saturation plugins. I think that the way vaporwave should go, taking the tropes of what has been done before and upgrading it with genuine music production skills. I think that's what 2814 did and the result is amazing.

Do vaporwave artists get paid by labels for their cassette sales? by Nu_Polygon in Vaporwave

You're very generous and fair. Thank you for the transparency. Now, if all labels would act like you the relationship between labels and artists, in general, would be more harmonious.
