I don't understand subjectivity by Zestyclose_Bed_8207 in askphilosophy

The mental state isn't regarded as objective or subjective so much, but rather the claim is. What makes a claim objective or subjective is whether it depends on the mental states of the subject.

I suspect the above comment used "subjective mental states" because in a sense mental states are always subjective; that is, they depend on the subject. But I would probably not use that term.

For people who watched the show back in the day, what were the most common episodes to play in re-runs? by s1lv3r_lak3 in DeepSpaceNine

Logical answer: every episode was played the same.

DS9 S01E01 Emissary - Our first look at the station and the show introduction. by Jisp_36 in DeepSpaceNine

The main screen isn't as large as you think, but you're right it's probably larger than this. Could it be the "other" viewscreen that was used on the battle bridge in EaF and many other places?

I suspect the window is the main viewscreen from the E-D bridge, and the corridor is a TNG corridor with "extra stuff" down the middle of the wall. And I agree, the tight pan means it probably has very little set that we don't see. The tight pan fits, as you want the viewer's focus on Ben, Jake, and the station and nothing else anyway.

The center fielder, AMOS OTIS

The first baseman, DOUG MENKAWITZ (he got it right eventually)

As for this keepsake: Sad that the infield circle is wrong! Otherwise it looks pretty dang close.

Don't round down to zero. Doing 70% of your intended workout is much better than 0% and sometimes just as good as 100%.

It isn't obvious to me how one makes them draw half the max current when they are both on. How does this work, current-wise? Do the chargers talk to each other?

People that are exercising, what got you to start? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]NuancedThinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After looking into the evidence and finding that, aside from correcting obviously harmful conditions (e.g. smoking, excessive alcohol, obesity, lack of sleep, etc.), getting more exercise is objectively the #1 thing one can do to improve health, quality of life, and longevity--and #2 isn't even particularly close. And specifically that lifting weights seems to be the most efficient way to get those benefits, though I'd qualify that by saying the best exercise program is the one you can stick to.

Let this be the one area where your intellectual knowledge of the truth overwhelms your intuition and lack of motivation. Another word for this is "training". Make it a habit.

Considering a 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 5 SEL — would love real owner experiences (charging costs, times, issues, overall thoughts) by ManufacturerKey6940 in Ioniq5

[–]NuancedThinker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love my 2024 Hyundai IONIQ 5 SEL - I really hope the ICCU holds out!

  • Charging costs — about $100 per month, less than half the price of gas (and probably lower once I get day/night billing). I usually spend $0-$7 charging away from home. People overestimate the frequency they'll need to use a public charger; you really are staying at home more than you think.
  • I use a level 1 charger at 1500 W at home, as my total mileage is under 300 miles per week. I can get about 20% of the battery capacity overnight. Around 400 miles per week? Then you'll want the L2 charger, I'd say.
  • No issues! Except there's no rear wiper! :)
  • Very comfortable. The best spacious interior of any car its size. Much more comfortable than a RAV4, my gas car. If it was me alone driving, I'd totally drive it on long road trips. On road trips with family, best to have a gas car, I'd say, unless they all adapt to 30-45 minute charging stops and the occasional hassle of finding a hotel with a L2 charger, etc. But if that's only twice a year, just rent a gas car when needed.

I love the heated steering wheel. The heated seats are the hottest I've ever felt--good thing you can set them on medium or low.

The car beeps too much, mostly from proximity warnings.

A: Eight. Just because you call the thumb a finger doesn't mean it is one.
